This brief reviews the evidence related to adolescent pregnancy prevention and suggests practical, data-driven actions for reducing pregnancy during adolescence.

Educational Success for Children in Foster Care

Led by Kathleen Noonan, a team of PolicyLab researchers published the article Cross-system barriers to educational success for children in foster care: The front line perspective in Children and Youth Services Review. The research engaged ground-level stakeholders of both the child welfare and education systems in focus groups to understand the experience of working across systems to achieve educational success for children in foster care. David Rubin Presents on Psychotropic Medications and Foster Care

On January 9, 2012, PolicyLab director David Rubin was an invited speaker for “Mental Health, Psychotropic Use, and Evidence-Based Interventions,” the first of a series of national webinars on psychotropic medication and child welfare convened by Commissioner Bryan Samuels of the US Administration on Children, Youth, and Families. Dr. Rubin’s presentation focused on PolicyLab’s forthcoming 50-state study of psychotropic medication use among children in foster care.

 
Chris Feudtner Delivers Grand Rounds at Montreal Children's Hospital

On November 30, 2011, PolicyLab's Chris Feudtner gave a Ground Rounds presentation at Montreal Children's Hospital.  Dr. Feudtner spoke about the ethics of protecting complex medical care for children in a climate focused on cutting costs.
