CHOP is among seven Pennsylvania hospitals awarded federal funds to improve health care quality and delivery systems and to utilize health information technologies.
PolicyLab, in partnership with CHOP’s Center for Pediatric Clinical Effectiveness and Center for Biomedical Informatics, will lead CHOP’s team on this five year project.
On Tuesday, March 9, U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz held a press conference in the atrium of The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia to announce that Pennsylvania will receive $9.7 million over five years to improve health care quality and delivery systems for children.
The Congresswoman was joined by Dr. Steven Altschuler, President and CEO of CHOP; Bernadette Mangan, CEO of St. Christopher's Hospital for Children; and Michael Nardone, Deputy Secretary for the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare's Office of Medical Assistance Programs.
The grant was funded by the Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009 (CHIPRA) and will be awarded to Pennsylvania to be divided among the commonwealth's hospitals, including CHOP, St. Christopher's, Geisinger Health System, Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Pinnacle Health System, Pocono Health System and West Penn Allegheny Health System.
