At November 2009's American Public Health Association conference, PolicyLab facilitated a Learning Institute, Achieving Evidence-Based Health Policy: Using Mixed Methods to Ensure Policy Impact. This course examined research methods that maximize scientific rigor and policy impact.
To strengthen the move towards evidence-based policy, participants were taught tools for stakeholder engagement and strategies for study design and implementation that maximize the likelihood of actionable and sustainable results. PolicyLab staff, Cynthia Mollen, MD, MSCE, Kathleen Noonan, JD, Susmita Pati, MD, MPH, and Sarah Zlotnik, MSW, MSPH co-led this course.
