HSV-tk + Valacyclovir Therapy in Combination With Brachytherapy for Recurrent Prostate Cancer
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to conduct a Phase I - II clinical trial to extend preclinical studies involving in situ HSV-tk + Valacyclovir gene therapy in combination with brachytherapy for recurrent prostate cancer. This will provide a novel therapeutic approach to prostate cancer and hopefully impact on the development of metastatic disease and the control of preexisting metastasis.

Colony-Stimulating Factor-1 (CSF-1) and Other Cytokines in Human Endometrial Carcinogenesis
Recruiting
The purposes of this study are the following:
To further characterize and quantify both CSF-1 and colony-stimulating factor-1 receptor (CSF-1R) expression from additional tumor specimens, specifically, tumors of high grade and from metastatic sites.
To assay using Enzyme-Linked ImmunoSorbent Assay (ELISA) sandwich monoclonal antibody methodology, CSF-1 expression in the peritoneal fluid and blood from patients with endometrial adenocarcinomas.

Evaluation of Truebeam for Low-Intermediate Risk Prostate Cancer
Recruiting
The primary safety purpose of this study is to estimate the rates of immediate and long-term high grade (grade 3-5) gastrointestinal and genitourinary side effects during the five years after TrueBeam stereotactic body radiotherapy in low-risk and intermediate-risk prostate cancer patients. The primary efficacy purpose is to compare 5 year biochemical disease free survival rates with TrueBeam to 5 year biochemical diseases free survival rates with dose-escalated external beam radiation therapy.

ACTHar in the Treatment of Lupus Nephritis
Recruiting
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a disease in which the immune system attacks the healthy cells and tissues, causing inflammation that can damage organs in the body. About 50% of SLE patients experience inflammation in the kidneys. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness and safety of two dosing arms of ACTHar gel in treating proliferative Lupus Nephritis (LN). This study hypothesizes that both dosing arms of ACTHar are safe and effective in treating proliferative LN (Cl... Read More

Metronomic Therapy for Pediatric Patients With Solid Tumors at High Risk of Recurrence
Recruiting
Most pediatric patients with solid tumors respond to initial high-dose, intensive therapy and complete treatment in remission. High-risk patients however, frequently have recurrent disease which is then treated with ad hoc regimens or early phase therapies with little benefit to the patient. Metronomic therapy (MC), defined as lower dose continuous drug exposure, has been successfully tested in pediatric leukemias with excellent results in terms of improved outcome, toxicity profiles, and cost.... There also exists a functionally superior, cost effective, and low risk non-operative or minimally invasive operative treatment regime to alleviate pain and slow the progression of disease in those with less advanced disease. Likewise, there is significant functional, health utility, and economic advantage to surgically treating advance... Read More
