This is a prospective, longitudinal, single-center, non-randomized, open-label, post-market clinical feasibility study to assess the efficacy of neuromodulation therapies (SCS and DRG) for chronic pain patients with diabetes and investigate whether physical and physiological data collected from diabetic and pre-diabetic chronic pain patients is predictive of subjective patient-reported outcomes (PROs) and of adjustments in patient care. This project aims to improve the understanding of the impact of Ethnic and Racial Discrimination (ERD) on adolescent alcohol and other drug use (AOD) within the Black Justice-Involved Youth (JIY) population. Individual interviews with Black JIY and focus groups with parents and guardians of Black JIY and community members who support change and reform in the justice community for Black JIY will be conducted. This study aims to confirm the safety and efficacy of diazoxide as an additive to hyperkalemic cardioplegia in patients undergoing cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass. The investigators hypothesize that diazoxide combined with hyperkalemic cardioplegia provides superior myocardial protection and reduced myocardial stunning compared with standard cardioplegia alone. Thirty patients will receive treatment. Safety will be assessed by comparing mean arterial blood pressure measurements, glucose levels and incidence of adverse events between the two groups. Efficacy will be assessed by comparing right and left ventricular function in pre-operative vs post-operative transesophageal echocardiograms, need for mechanical circulatory support, ease of separation from bypass and Vasoactive Inotrope Score (VIS) between the two groups. The information gained could pave the way for the use of Katp (Potassium-atp) channel openers to prevent stunning, improve patient outcomes, and reduce health care costs related to myocardial stunning that requires inotropic and mechanical support following cardiac surgery. This prospective natural history study is being conducted to define the electroclinical, neurodevelopmental, and behavioral characteristics of CNKSR2 epilepsy aphasia syndrome (EAS) and intellectual disability (ID) in children aged 6 to 21 years old with CNKSR2 mutations. The data collected from this study will serve as an external control to eventual clinical trials examining precision medicine investigational therapeutics that aim to improve the seizure burden and neurodevelopmental outcomes in patients with CNKSR2 EAS/ID. The purpose of this research is to find a set of markers in the blood and/or urine that can be linked to consumption of specific fruits and vegetables. This will allow for better understanding of the link between diet and health-related outcomes. Furthermore, the results of this study will lead to the development of new methods to evaluate the nutritional status of individuals in both community and clinical settings. Food frequency questionnaires and diaries/recalls can be affected by intentional or unintentional misreporting, and thus can create errors in determining nutritional status. This study will lead to the development of an objective way to assess the consumption of specific fruits and vegetables by the general population. Read Less

The goal of this clinical trial is to determine if Qualia NAD+ effectively increases NAD+ levels in the blood and to evaluate its safety. Researchers will compare Qualia NAD+ to a placebo (a look-alike substance that contains no active drug) to assess its efficacy in increasing NAD+ levels in the blood. Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) and anaplastic astrocytoma (AA) are the most common primary malignant brain tumors. Survival of patients with these brain tumors is directly related to the extent of resection. Consequently, a great deal of effort has been directed at developing techniques and technologies that allow more extensive, safe resections. This study will test a loupe-based wearable device in the clinical setting and compare its accuracy with a large operative microscope to identify tumor tissues. Postoperative histopathological analysis on tumor tissues will be used as gold standards for comparison. The outcome from this study will be a low-cost, miniaturized, easy-to-operate, loupe-based fluorescence imaging device for intraoperative guidance of brain tumor resection with the same level of accuracy as the large microscope. This clinical trial studies the effectiveness of a newly developed survivorship mobile application (app) designed for survivors, or their caregivers, of childhood cancer to help them better navigate long-term follow-up care. The survivorship app provides survivors access to their treatment history and follow-up recommendations, improves knowledge of their diagnosis, treatment, risks, and recommended follow-up care by using a message notification. The ability to quickly connect and establish care planning may enhance adherence to recommended follow-up. Read Less
