Hawaii Clinical Trials
A listing of Hawaii clinical trials actively recruiting patient volunteers.
Beloved as an island paradise, Hawaii actually consists of eight major islands that are home to about 1.4 million people. Because of the archipelago’s layout, large cities tend to be separated. Honolulu, on Oahu, is the largest city and the capital. Kailua-Kona and Hilo are some of the other major cities. Hawaii has long had a tourism-friendly economy where visitors from around the world can visit breathtaking white sand beaches, tour volcanoes, and see waterfalls. The Queen’s Medical Center, part of The Queen’s Health Systems, is the largest private hospital in the state, supporting more than 570 acute care beds.

Secondary objectives: To determine whether the addition of intravenous furosemide with usual antihypertensiv ...

Impact of Metformin on Immuno-virologic Parameters in HIV
Non-diabetic, aviremic HIV-infected individuals on antiretroviral therapy (ART) will be randomized to metformin therapy or to observation for 72 weeks. Primary objective is to assess change over 72 weeks in CD4 T cell negative checkpoint receptors (PD-1 and TIGIT). As secondary objectives the study will look at 72 week change in other immuno-virologic parameters (CD8 T cell negative checkpoint receptors, plasma indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) levels and CD4 T cell and monocyte intracellular HI ...
Making Informed Choices on Incorporating Chemoprevention Into Care (MiCHOICE)
This trial studies the implementation of decision support tools integrated into the electronic health record and patient portal for patients with atypical hyperplasia or lobular carcinoma in situ and healthcare providers. Decision support tools are designed to improve informed choice about breast cancer chemoprevention.
