North Dakota Clinical Trials

A listing of North Dakota Clinical Trials actively recruiting patient volunteers.

North Dakota is a land defined by its Great Plains landscape. As both the 4th least populous state, and with the 4th lowest population density, it has plenty of wide open spaces – adding to its reputation as "The Roughrider State." Nonetheless, there are cities: Fargo is the largest, with 1.2 million locals, while Bismarck is the capital. Grand Forks and Minot are smaller cities. Sanford Medical Center Fargo is both the newest and largest hospital in the state. As a regional care hub, it sees about 60% of patients from outside its local metro area. It has nearly 300 beds.

Genetic Analysis in Identifying Late-Occurring Complications in Childhood Cancer Survivors

NCT00082745

This clinical trial studies cancer survivors to identify those who are at increased risk of developing late-occurring complications after undergoing treatment for childhood cancer. A patient's genes may affect the risk of developing complications, such as congestive heart failure, avascular necrosis, stroke, and second cancer, years after undergoing cancer treatment. Genetic studies may help doctors identify survivors of childhood cancer who are more likely to develop late complications.

Conditions: Childhood Malignant Neoplasm

Long-Term Follow-Up of Patients Who Have Participated in Children's Oncology Group Studies

NCT00736749

This clinical trial keeps track of and collects follow-up information from patients who are currently enrolled on or have participated in a Children's Oncology Group study. Developing a way to keep track of patients who have participated in Children's Oncology Group studies may allow doctors learn more about the long-term effects of cancer treatment and help them reduce problems related to treatment and improve patient quality of life.

Conditions: Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, Brain Neoplasm, Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation Recipient, Hodgkin Lymphoma, Osteosarcoma, Rhabdomyosarcoma

Neuropsychological and Behavioral Testing in Younger Patients With Cancer

NCT00772200

This research trial studies neuropsychological (learning, remembering or thinking) and behavioral outcomes in children and adolescents with cancer by collecting information over time from a series of tests.

Conditions: Childhood Malignant Neoplasm

Radiation Therapy With Concomitant and Adjuvant Temozolomide Versus Radiation Therapy With Adjuvant PCV Chemotherapy in Patients With Anaplastic Glioma or Low Grade Glioma

NCT00887146

Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as temozolomide, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. It is not yet known whether giving radiation with concomitant and adjuvant temozolomide versus radiation with adjuvant PCV is more effective in treating anaplastic glioma or low grade glioma.

Conditions: Brain and Central Nervous System Tumors

Study of Kidney Tumors in Younger Patients

NCT00898365

This research trial studies kidney tumors in younger patients. Collecting and storing samples of tumor tissue, blood, and urine from patients with cancer to study in the laboratory may help doctors learn more about changes that occur in deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and identify biomarkers related to cancer.

Conditions: Adult Cystic Nephroma, Anaplastic Kidney Wilms Tumor, Angiolipoma, Cellular Congenital Mesoblastic Nephroma, Classic Congenital Mesoblastic Nephroma, Clear Cell Sarcoma of the Kidney, Congenital Mesoblastic Nephroma, Cystic Partially Differentiated Kidney Nephroblastoma, Diffuse Hyperplastic Perilobar Nephroblastomatosis, Extrarenal Rhabdoid Tumor, Kidney Medullary Carcinoma, Kidney Neoplasm, Kidney Oncocytoma, Kidney Wilms Tumor, Metanephric Adenofibroma, Metanephric Adenoma, Metanephric Stromal Tumor, Metanephric Tumor, Mixed Congenital Mesoblastic Nephroma, Ossifying Renal Tumor of Infancy, Papillary Renal Cell Carcinoma, Renal Cell Carcinoma, Renal Cell Carcinoma Associated With Xp11.2 Translocations/TFE3 Gene Fusions, Rhabdoid Tumor of the Kidney, Wilms Tumor

Biomarkers in Tumor Tissue Samples From Patients With Newly Diagnosed Neuroblastoma or Ganglioneuroblastoma

NCT00904241

This research trial studies biomarkers in tumor tissue samples from patients with newly diagnosed neuroblastoma or ganglioneuroblastoma. Studying samples of tumor tissue from patients with cancer in the laboratory may help doctors identify and learn more about biomarkers related to cancer.

Conditions: Ganglioneuroblastoma, Localized Resectable Neuroblastoma, Localized Unresectable Neuroblastoma, Regional Neuroblastoma, Stage 4 Neuroblastoma, Stage 4S Neuroblastoma

The Gilenya Pregnancy Registry

NCT01285479

The purpose of the Multi-National Gilenya Pregnancy Exposure Registry in Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is to continuously monitor, evaluate, and assess for major and minor teratogenic effects in the offspring of women exposed to fingolimod before (up to 8 weeks before last menstrual period (LMP)) and during pregnancy in routine clinical practice. The overall aim is to collect and evaluate data on maternal, fetal, and infant outcomes and compare it with reference populations.

Conditions: Multiple Sclerosis

S0820, Adenoma and Second Primary Prevention Trial

NCT01349881

The investigators hypothesize that the combination of eflornithine and sulindac will be effective in reducing a three-year event rate of adenomas and second primary colorectal cancers in patients previously treated for Stages 0 through III colon or rectal cancer.

Conditions: Colorectal Neoplasms

Enroll -HD: A Prospective Registry Study in a Global Huntington's Disease Cohort

NCT01574053

Enroll-HD is a longitudinal, observational, multinational study that integrates two former Huntington's disease (HD) registries-REGISTRY in Europe, and COHORT in North America and Australasia-while also expanding to include sites in Latin America. More than 20,000 participants have now enrolled into the study. With annual assessments and no end date, Enroll-HD has built a large and rich database of longitudinal clinical data and biospecimens that form the basis for studies developing tools and b ...

Testing Docetaxel-Cetuximab or the Addition of an Immunotherapy Drug, Atezolizumab, to the Usual Chemotherapy and Radiation Therapy in High-Risk Head and Neck Cancer

NCT01810913

This phase II/III trial studies how well radiation therapy works when given together with cisplatin, docetaxel, cetuximab, and/or atezolizumab after surgery in treating patients with high-risk stage III-IV head and neck cancer the begins in the thin, flat cells (squamous cell). Specialized radiation therapy that delivers a high dose of radiation directly to the tumor may kill more tumor cells and cause less damage to normal tissue. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin and docetaxel, wor ...

Brentuximab Vedotin and Nivolumab With or Without Ipilimumab in Treating Patients With Relapsed or Refractory Hodgkin Lymphoma

NCT01896999

This phase I/II trial studies the side effects and best dose of ipilimumab and nivolumab when given together with brentuximab vedotin, and how well they work in treating patients with Hodgkin lymphoma that has returned after a period of improvement (recurrent) or has not responded to previous treatment (refractory). Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as ipilimumab and nivolumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of cancer cells to ...
