Participants are being invited to take part in this research study because you will be undergoing total shoulder replacement or rotator cuff repair and will be participating in physical therapy rehabilitation following the procedure. The purpose of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of Band Connect, a connected health platform, in enhancing compliance with home exercise programs among patients undergoing physical therapy. This study aims to evaluate the implications of increased compliance on improving patient engagement and increasing satisfaction for both patients and clinicians. This is a retrospective-prospective study in which 40 patients have received a permanent Freedom PNS System. Subjects presented with chronic, intractable pain of peripheral nerve origin refractory to standard medical and/or surgical treatment. A retrospective chart review will be conducted to assess baseline and follow-up parameters in patients who have received a permanent implant with the Freedom PNS system for at least 12 months. This interventional clinical trial aims to find ways of improving treatments for individuals with esophageal cancer. Laboratory-based studies show that using medicines that affect a protein called TGF-beta (TGFβ) can kill esophageal cancer cells in individuals who have localized esophageal adenocarcinoma and are being considered for standard-of-care chemoradiation prior to surgery. Participants of this study will take a pill called vactosertib for two weeks before starting standard of care chemoradiation. At the end of the two weeks of taking vactosertib, participants will have a Positron Emission Tomography Computer Assisted Tomography (PET CT) scan and undergo an endoscopy with a biopsy to determine if the vactosertib is working. After chemoradiation, participants will take vactosertib again for four weeks and then be considered for surgery. Read Less

The Investigators propose to study pediatric subjects who are diagnosed with cystic fibrosis (CF) and patients with non-CF bronchiectasis, with the goal of developing markers of CF lung disease severity, progression, and therapy response. The purpose of this study is to test the effectiveness, safety, and tolerability of a drug called Methimazole. The investigational drug, Methimazole is not FDA approved for brain tumors, but it is used to treat thyroid illnesses. Different doses of Methimazole will be given to several study participants with glioblastoma. The first several study participants will receive the lowest dose. If the drug does not cause serious side effects, it will be given to other study participants at a higher dose. The doses will continue to increase for every group of study participants until the side effects occur that require the dose to be lowered. The goal of this study is to identify which brain regions are active during speech-in-noise perception, as well as how those regions interact. The investigators are studying brain activation during speech-in-noise in autism and controls as well as individuals with Fragile X Syndrome. The main question\[s\] it aims to answer are: 1) How does the brain's response to background noise affect a person's ability to understand speech? 2) Can visual cues improve hearing in background noise? Participants will complete the following: * hearing tests * cognitive and behavioral measures * questionnaires about their symptoms * both passive and active hearing tasks while brain activity is recorded with a neuroimaging cap Results will be compared between individuals with autism with and without Fragile X Syndrome as well as individuals without autism.
