DBS for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
Recruiting
There are two primary approaches to the treatment of OCD, pharmacotherapy and cognitive behavior therapy (CBT). Lack of therapeutic success with one approach leads to trials of the alternative approach or a combination of the two. A rarely used third therapy approach, appropriate for only the most severely afflicted and treatment resistant patients, is neurosurgical ablation of certain brain regions involved in mood and anxiety. The neurosurgical ablation procedures are irreversible in nature, a... Read More

Decitabine, Venetoclax, and Ponatinib for the Treatment of Philadelphia Chromosome-Positive Acute Myeloid Leukemia or Myeloid Blast Phase or Accelerated Phase Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia
Recruiting
This phase II trial studies how well the combination of decitabine, venetoclax, and ponatinib work for the treatment of Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute myeloid leukemia or myeloid blast phase or accelerated phase chronic myelogenous leukemia. Drugs used in chemotherapy such as decitabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Venetoclax may stop the growth of cancer cells... Read More

Metformin for Chemoprevention of Lung Cancer in Overweight or Obese Individuals at High Risk for Lung Cancer
Recruiting
This phase II trial determines the effect of metformin extended release on the risk for developing lung cancer in overweight/obese patients that are at high-risk for developing lung cancer. Metformin is widely used to treat type II diabetes and has a long history of safety and minimal side effects. At similar dosage, the drug may have potential anti-cancer activity. Metformin use has been associated with improved survival in patients with non-small cell lung carcinoma, a specific type of lung ca... Read More

Study of Erdafitinib Intravesical Delivery System for Localized Bladder Cancer
Recruiting
The purpose of the study in Part 1 (dose escalation) and in Part 2 (dose expansion) is to determine the recommended Phase 2 dose(s) (RP2D\[s\]) and evaluate preliminary clinical efficacy. Part 3 (dose expansion) will confirm safety and preliminary clinical activity at the RP2D. Part 4 (RP2D expansion) will assess the overall complete response (CR) in participants with intermediate-risk-non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (IR-NMIBC; means the cancer cells are only in the bladder's inner lining).

LCAT (Lecithin Cholesterol Acyl Transferase) Natural History Study
Recruiting
The purpose of the LCAT (Lecithin cholesterol acyl transferase) Natural History Study (LCAT NHS) is to help identify people with a mutation in a gene called LCAT, collect and store information about their medical history and disease course, and to assess for associations and follow changes in clinical features and biomarkers of disease. This information will help health care providers better understand the natural history of disease of LCAT deficiency. Study staff will collect information from... Read More

Investigation of the Antidepressant Effects of (2R,6R)-HNK, an Enhancer of Synaptic Glutamate Release, in Treatment-Resistant Depression
Recruiting
Background: Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a serious mental illness that can put people at risk of self-harm and death. Many drugs are used to treat MDD, but it can take a long time for them to be effective. Researchers want to know if a faster-acting drug, (2R,6R)-hydroxynorketamine (HNK), can better treat the symptoms of MDD. Objective: To test a study drug (HNK) in people with MDD. Eligibility: People aged 18 to 70 years with MDD. They must have had a screening assessment under proto... Read More
