The state of California currently has 30 active clinical trials seeking participants for Migraine research studies. These trials are conducted in various cities, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego and Sacramento.
Sequential, Multiple Assignment, Double Randomized Preference, Migraine Behavioral Trial
Recruiting
This study will unpack the behavioral intervention for migraine and determine the optimum combinations. In addition, the study will test preference and self-selection effects during the trial.

Emgality for Migraine in Breastmilk
Recruiting
The goal of this project is to evaluate galcanezumab transfer into maternal breastmilk, and to evaluate infant (growth, development, constipation, colic, infections) and maternal (headache) outcomes for dyads in which the mother was treated with galcanezumab and to compare outcomes for infants who were or were not breastfed after maternal treatment. In this prospective observational study, the study team proposes to prospectively collect serial milk samples from 30 adult women who are treated w... Read More

Analysis of Headache Chronification With Imaging, Deep Phenotyping, and Proteomics
Recruiting
Study is aimed at determining why some patients with episodic headache proceed to chronic daily or near daily headaches. The Investigators seek to discover differences in brain anatomy and function, composition of cerebrospinal fluid, blood products, genetics, and patient phenotypes that might help explain this process.

Galcanezumab for Vestibular Migraine
Recruiting
Vestibular migraine (VM) has been recognized a distinct subtype of migraine that causes dizziness as the predominant symptom. Criteria for diagnosis have been adopted by the Barany Society. Previous epidemiological research from the investigators has shown that VM affects 2.7% of the adult population of the United States. Yet, despite its high prevalence, there is very little data upon which to guide treatment decisions. A Cochrane review in 2015 concluded that there were no placebo controlled t... Read More

Effects of a Multispecies Probiotic on Migraine
Recruiting
The prevalence of migraine is higher in female patients with various intestinal diseases. An explanation could be that migraine is caused by a leaky gut, defined by increased intestinal permeability that permits particles to pass through the gastrointestinal wall. Probiotics, may be able to improve intestinal barrier function. OBJECTIVE: To test whether probiotics, as adjucnt therapy, can reduce incidence and severity of migraine attacks by reducing intestinal permeability.

Determining the Utility of a Behavioral Intervention in Chronic Migraine
Recruiting
This proposal will involve a pilot study to evaluate the feasibility, acceptability, and outcomes of a lifestyle behavior protocol in managing chronic migraine. Additionally, the proposal will investigate biomolecules that are uniquely involved in chronic migraine patients who respond to the protocol. Successful completion of this proposal will inform the design of a future full-scale behavioral clinical trial to control chronic migraine.
