This phase II MyeloMATCH treatment trial compares the usual treatment of azacitidine and venetoclax to the combination treatment of azacitidine, venetoclax and gilteritinib in treating older and unfit patients with acute myeloid leukemia and FLT3 mutations. Azacitidine is a drug that is absorbed into DNA and leads to the activation of cancer suppressor genes, which are genes that help control cell growth. Venetoclax is in a class of medications called B-cell lymphoma-2 (BCL-2) inhibitors. It may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking Bcl-2, a protein needed for cancer cell survival. Gilteritinib is in a class of medications called kinase inhibitors. It works by blocking the action of a certain naturally occurring substance that may be needed to help cancer cells multiply. This study may help doctors find out if these different approaches are better than the usual approaches. To decide if they are better, the study doctors are looking to see if the study drugs lead to a higher percentage of patients achieving a deeper remission compared to the usual approach. Read Less

This prospective longitudinal study will compare incidence rates of Medicare beneficiary surgical and minimally invasive intervention post index procedure, as well as harms associated with the MILD procedure, at 24 months post-treatment with MILD, tested against a control group of similar patients that have had a comparable procedure. This study is open to adults with advanced cancer of the colon, rectum, stomach, or pancreas, that is the cancer cannot be removed by surgery or has spread. People can take part in this study if their previous treatment was not successful, or no other treatment exists. The study aims to find the highest dose for the study medicine called BI 765049 that people with advanced cancer can tolerate. Another purpose is to find the most suitable dose and best way of administration of BI 765049 for further clinical development. BI 765049 may help the immune system fight cancer. Participants receive BI 765049 at least once every 3 weeks. Participants may continue to get BI 765049 treatment as long as they benefit from treatment but no longer than 3 years. During this time, participants regularly visit the study site. The study visits include several overnight stays at the hospital. At the visits, study doctors check participants' health, take necessary laboratory tests, and note any unwanted effects. Unwanted effects are any health problems that the doctors think were caused by the study medicine or treatment. To find the highest dose of BI 765049 that participants can tolerate, researchers look at the number of participants with certain severe health problems. This phase III trial investigates the best dose of vinblastine in combination with selumetinib and the benefit of adding vinblastine to selumetinib compared to selumetinib alone in treating children and young adults with low-grade glioma (a common type of brain cancer) that has come back after prior treatment (recurrent) or does not respond to therapy (progressive). Selumetinib is a drug that works by blocking a protein that lets tumor cells grow without stopping. Vinblastine blocks cell growth by stopping cell division and may kill cancer cells. Giving selumetinib in combination with vinblastine may work better than selumetinib alone in treating recurrent or progressive low-grade glioma. Read Less

The goal of this clinical trial is to determine if the drug Nizaracianine Triflutate can help surgeons see and avoid the ureters during abdominopelvic surgery. The ureters are thin-wall, collapsible tubes that connect the kidneys to the bladder. They are difficult to see during surgery and are sometimes damaged accidentally. The main questions to answer are: 1) is this drug safe for use in patients undergoing abdominopelvic surgery and 2) can the drug see the ureters while simultaneously providing information about how well they are working. The clinical trial has 3 parts. Surgery patients enrolled in the first part (Phase 2) will receive drug at different doses to determine the best dose. Patients enrolled in the second part (Phase 3A) will be randomly assigned to drug or placebo (sugar), at the best dose from Phase 2, so the two can be compared directly.
