Renal Cell Carcinoma Clinical Trials

This phase II trial compares the impact of subcutaneous (SC) nivolumab given in an in-home setting to an in-clinic setting on cancer care and quality of life. Currently, most drug-related cancer care is conducted in clinic type centers or hospitals which may isolate patients from family, friends and familiar surroundings for many hours per day. This separation adds to the physical, emotional, social, and financial burden for patients and their families. Traveling to and from medical facilities costs time, money, and effort and can be a disadvantage to patients living in rural areas, those with low incomes or poor access to transport. Studies have shown that cancer patients often feel more comfortable and secure being cared for in their own home environments. SC nivolumab in-home treatment may be safe, tolerable and/or effective when compared to in-clinic treatment and may reduce the burden of cancer and improve the quality of life in cancer patients. Study CP-MGC018-02 is a study of vobramitamab duocarmazine (MGC018) in combination with lorigerlimab (MGD019). The study is designed to characterize safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK), immunogenicity, pharmacodynamics, and preliminary antitumor activity. Participants with relapsed or refractory, unresectable, locally advanced or metastatic solid tumors including, but not limited to, metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC), melanoma, pancreatic cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), ovarian cancer, and renal cell carcinoma (RCC) will be enrolled. Vobramitamab duocarmazine and lorigerlimab are administered separately on Day 1 of every 4-week (28-day) cycle at the assigned dose for each cohort. Participants who do not meet criteria for study drug discontinuation may receive study drugs for up to 2 years. Tumor assessments are performed every 8 weeks (± 7 days) for the initial 6 months on study drugs, then every 12 weeks (± 21 days) until progressive disease (PD). The purpose of this study is to investigate how collecting information about treatment-related side effects directly from patients can help manage the side effects associated with certain oral chemotherapies. This study is specifically investigating this approach in patients taking oral vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) for metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC). Participants in this study will receive a survey via email or telephone once a week while receiving treatment with a VEGFR TKI. The survey will ask about symptoms such as nausea or fatigue and overall quality of life. This survey should take no more than 15 minutes to complete. The survey will be sent directly to the oncology care team. Participants will receive a follow-up phone call or message from the team when participants have new or worsening symptoms. The participants will continue to receive surveys for as long as they are receiving a VEGF TKI treatment. Read Less

Single arm, single site, open-label Phase II study of the effects of oral olaparib in participants with metastatic renal cell carcinoma that harbor an inactivating mutation in BAP-1, ATM, BRCA1, BRCA2, PALB2, CHEK2, BRIP1, RAD51C, BARD1, CDK12, CHEK1, FANCL, PP2R2A, RAD51B, RAD51D, or RAD54L who have had prior treatment with at least one immune checkpoint inhibitor or anti-VEGF therapy. Brief Summary: This study will test the safety, including side effects, and determine the characteristics of a drug called PRO1160 in participants with solid tumors. Participants will have solid tumor or liquid cancer that has spread through the body (metastatic) or cannot be removed with surgery (unresectable). This Phase 1/2 study will have two parts. Part A of the study will find out how much and how frequently PRO1160 should be given to participants. Part B will use the dose and schedule found in Part A to find out how safe PRO1160 is and if it works to treat the diseases under study. This clinical trial studies the effect of four different intervention components "tools" on body weight, nutrition, and physical activity in cancer survivors. Studies indicate that people with a history of cancer whose nutrition and physical activity habits are consistent with the American Cancer Society's Nutrition and Physical Activity Guidelines may have longer disease-free survival. The four different intervention components may help patients with a history of cancer adopt recommended health behaviors after they have completed treatment. Read Less
