Anxiety Paid Clinical Trials in Connecticut

Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is usually treated with antidepressant therapy (ADT); however, sometimes ADTs alone are not enough to adequately treat GAD. The purpose of this study is to assess how safe and effective ABBV-932 is when added to the antidepressant therapies in adult participants with GAD who have had an inadequate response ADTs. ABBV-932 is an investigational drug being developed for the adjunctive treatment of GAD. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive ABBV-932 or Placebo in addition to their currently prescribed ADTs. There is 1 in 3 chance of participants assigned to Placebo. Approximately 315 adult participants with GAD and inadequate response to ADTs will be enrolled in approximately 50 sites in the United States and Puerto Rico. Participants will receive oral capsules of ABBV-932 or matching placebo in addition to their prescribed ADT for 6 weeks and then will be followed for an additional 4 week follow-up period. There may be higher treatment burden for participants in this trial compared to their standard of care. Participants will attend regular visits during the study at a hospital or clinic. This U.S. Phase 3 clinical trial is designed to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of the acute intranasal (i.n.) administration of Fasedienol Nasal Spray (fasedienol) (3.2 µg) to relieve symptoms of acute anxiety in adult subjects ages 18 through 65 with Social Anxiety Disorder induced by a public speaking challenge (PSC) in a clinical setting. In addition, safety and tolerability of i.n. administration of 3.2 µg of fasedienol, as-needed, up to 6 times per day for up to 12 months, will be assessed in those subjects who complete PALISADE-3 and choose to enter the distinct open-label extension phase of the study. The primary objective of this study is to investigate the safety, feasibility, and tolerability of psilocybin treatment in individuals with functional impairment due to psychiatric symptoms. The secondary objective of this study is to determine whether individuals with functional impairments due to psychiatric symptoms will experience statistically significant symptom reduction and functional improvement from baseline symptom measurements (Visit 3) to 1-week (Visit 7), 4-weeks (Visit 8), and 6-weeks (Visit 9) post dosing. The investigators will recruit individuals with mood, anxiety, trauma, addictive, or related symptomatology, and who have functional impairment associated with these symptoms. A DSM-5 diagnosis is not required (nor is it an exclusion). The investigators will allow for comorbidity and only exclude based on psychological and physiological safety considerations. Critically, this approach will allow us to assess the tolerability of our interventions in individuals who would typically be excluded from efficacy studies due to various comorbid DSM-5 conditions. The investigators will employ an open-label study where participants will be given one dose of oral psilocybin 25mg. To examine the extent to which Cannabidiol (CBD) enhances fear conditioning extinction in college undergraduates who show elevated social anxiety. Undergraduates who display elevated social anxiety on standard assessments will be recruited at the University of Connecticut. All participants will be put in a standard fear conditioning paradigm where they are conditioned to fear a face that occasionally is followed by a shock to their wrist. The other face never is paired with a shock. After everybody learns this, half of the participants will receive 600 mg CBD Isolate Gel Capsules one time, and the other half will receive a placebo dose. Participants will then be presented with the faces with no shocks, and the rate and duration of extinction as measured by electrodermal response as well as subjective fear ratings via a visual analogue scale will be examined. It is hypothesized that participants that receive CBD will display enhanced extinction compared to the placebo group, as evidenced by reduced electrodermal response and reduced visual analogue fear ratings. This online registry aims to understand the potential benefits and safety of external trigeminal nerve stimulation for the treatment of migraine in pregnant women. Women do not need to use external trigeminal nerve stimulation or any other form of migraine treatment to participate in the registry. The main question it aims to answer is: Is external trigeminal nerve stimulation a safe and effective option for migraine treatment during and after pregnancy? There are no required changes in migraine treatment to participate in this registry. Participants may or may not use external trigeminal nerve stimulation or any other treatment they currently use and may still participate in the registry. Excessive anxiety among elementary students is highly prevalent and associated with impairment in academic, social, and behavioral functioning. The primary aim of this project is to evaluate the initial efficacy of a brief nurse-delivered intervention (CALM: Child Anxiety Learning Modules), relative to a credible comparison (CALM-R, relaxation skills only) and a waitlist control for reducing anxiety symptoms and improving education outcomes at post intervention and at a 1-year follow-up. In addition, the research team will assess the cost effectiveness of CALM versus CALM-R and the waitlist control and examine potential predictors, moderators, and mediators of CALM's impact on child outcomes based on the proposed theory of change. The goal of this clinical trial is to conduct a randomized controlled trial to enhance the capacity of pediatric primary care providers to assist their patients who struggle with anxiety. The study aims to refine and assess the feasibility of the Anxiety Action Plan (AxAP), a brief intervention to reduce pediatric anxiety, delivered by primary care providers (PCPs) in community pediatric primary care clinics. The goal of the AxAP is to enhance the capacity of PCPs to identify and intervene with anxious youth, which will enhance access to care in general and especially in locations with few mental health specialists. PCPs participating in this study will attend a training, administer the intervention to enrolled youth assigned to the MAPP condition, participate in coaching sessions, and fill out study questionnaires. Families participating in this study will complete evaluations with the study team, receive the intervention from their PCP (if assigned to the MAPP condition), and fill out study questionnaires. Researchers will compare the MAPP intervention to Enhanced Usual Care (EUC; consisting of videos, handouts, and other resources for anxiety reduction) to see the differences, if any, in child outcomes.
