Depression Paid Clinical Trials in Connecticut

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if ABX-002 added to participants' existing treatment(s) shows effects on brain chemistry that may correlate with antidepressive effects. This is a single treatment arm, open-label, Phase 2 study of ABX-002 in 30 adults with bipolar depression. Five healthy volunteer participants will also be enrolled and receive no drug treatment, undergoing 2 imaging sessions to confirm instrument and test - retest method reliability control. For bipolar disorder participants who are experiencing an episode of depression, the study will include 3 study periods: 1. Screening Period of up to 4 weeks 2. 6-week Treatment Period 3. 2-week post dose Safety Follow-up Period. For healthy volunteers, the study will include 2 study periods: 1. The primary objective of this study is to investigate the safety, feasibility, and tolerability of psilocybin treatment in individuals with functional impairment due to psychiatric symptoms. The secondary objective of this study is to determine whether individuals with functional impairments due to psychiatric symptoms will experience statistically significant symptom reduction and functional improvement from baseline symptom measurements (Visit 3) to 1-week (Visit 7), 4-weeks (Visit 8), and 6-weeks (Visit 9) post dosing. The investigators will recruit individuals with mood, anxiety, trauma, addictive, or related symptomatology, and who have functional impairment associated with these symptoms. A DSM-5 diagnosis is not required (nor is it an exclusion). The investigators will allow for comorbidity and only exclude based on psychological and physiological safety considerations. Critically, this approach will allow us to assess the tolerability of our interventions in individuals who would typically be excluded from efficacy studies due to various comorbid DSM-5 conditions. The investigators will employ an open-label study where participants will be given one dose of oral psilocybin 25mg. The purpose of this study is to compare the relative effectiveness, acceptability, and side effects of ketamine delivered through an IV (a drip into the arm) which is not currently FDA approved for use in the treatment of treatment-resistant depression (TRD) and Esketamine (Spravato®), taken as a nasal spray which has received FDA approval for use in the treatment of treatment-resistant depression (TRD) in the treatment of patients with treatment-resistant depression (TRD). The study will look at the following: * How well the treatment helps with symptoms of depression (effectiveness), * How comfortable and willing people are to use the treatment (acceptability), and * How well people can deal with any side effects from the treatment (tolerability). This observational protocol is intended to provide long-term follow-up data on patients initiating or continuing treatment with either Spravato® or IV ketamine. This can provide us information on the patient acceptability and satisfaction, patterns of use, long-term effectiveness, and safety of the two approaches. The goal of this phase 1 study is to investigate the safety and efficacy of dimethyltryptamine (DMT) in individuals with depression and healthy controls. We hypothesize that administration of DMT will result in decreases in depression, associated symptoms, and neuroplastic changes in depressed subjects. We expect that DMT will induce changes in neuroplasticity as indexed using electroencephalographic (EEG) measures and tasks in both depressed individuals and healthy volunteers, though to different degrees. These neuronal changes may in parallel cause changes in mood measured both in healthy and depressed subjects, which will be captured using appropriate psychometric measures of mood. Read Less

This online registry aims to understand the potential benefits and safety of external trigeminal nerve stimulation for the treatment of migraine in pregnant women. Women do not need to use external trigeminal nerve stimulation or any other form of migraine treatment to participate in the registry. The main question it aims to answer is: Is external trigeminal nerve stimulation a safe and effective option for migraine treatment during and after pregnancy? There are no required changes in migraine treatment to participate in this registry. Participants may or may not use external trigeminal nerve stimulation or any other treatment they currently use and may still participate in the registry. The main purpose of this study is to examine the efficacy and safety of a repeated dosing ketamine infusion paradigm compared to placebo in individuals with PD. A subset of participants in each arm will undergo baseline and post-treatment PET and fMRI scans, to examine whether changes in synaptic density and reorganization of functional networks underlie ketamine's putative antidepressant effects in PD.
