Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Paid Clinical Trials in Florida

Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) is one of the deadliest types of cancer. In lung cancer patients with a tumor that can be removed by surgery, adjuvant chemotherapy increases survival. Neoadjuvant therapy may have advantages such as, it may be more tolerable prior to surgery, earlier treatment may be more efficacious, and it can provide an indication of treatment response. Neoadjuvant treatment can provide pre- and post-treatment specimens for correlative analysis to better understand mechanisms of action and resistance. This pilot study will investigate the effects of neoadjuvant durvalumab plus platinum doublet chemotherapy and neoadjuvant durvalumab plus platinum doublet chemotherapy in combination with abequolixron (RGX-104), an LXR/ApoE agonist, in subjects with NSCLC who are scheduled to undergo surgical resection as part of their standard of care. The purpose of this study is to study how well using a combination of durvalumab, platinum doublet chemotherapy (carboplatin/abraxane or carboplatin/pemetrexed), and abequolixron treats non-small cell lung cancer before surgery. Durvalumab (a type of immunotherapy) and platinum doublet chemotherapy are drugs that are individually approved for use during the treatment of cancer. FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has not approved the combined use of these drugs in treating non-small cell lung cancer. Abequolixron is not FDA approved for the treatment of cancer. Read Less

The optimal treatment for Stage I or Stage IIA non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) remains controversial. Radiographic surveillance alone has been recommended for stage I and stage IIA patients after the tumor is removed surgically from the lung, and this standard has been based on the fact that no previous clinical trial has demonstrated a benefit for Stage I or Stage IIA NSCLC patients who receive post-operative chemotherapy. These patients, however, have a substantial risk of death within five years after operation, ranging from approximately 30% to 45%, largely due to metastatic disease that is present immediately after surgery but that is undetectable by conventional methods. Some leading organizations therefore currently recommend post-operative chemotherapy as an alternative standard of care in Stage I or Stage IIA NSCLC patients who are considered to be at particularly high-risk. Up until now, however, there has not been a well-validated means to identify stage I and stage IIA NSCLC patients at high risk of death within five years after operation. A new prognostic tool, a 14-Gene Prognostic Assay, which has been validated and definitively demonstrated in large scale studies to identify intermediate and high-risk stage I or Stage IIA patients with non-squamous NSCLC, is now available to all clinicians through a CLIA-certified laboratory. This randomized phase III trial studies how well crizotinib works in treating patients with stage IB-IIIA non-small cell lung cancer that has been removed by surgery and has a mutation in a protein called anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK). Mutations, or changes, in ALK can make it very active and important for tumor cell growth and progression. Crizotinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking the ALK protein from working. Crizotinib may be an effective treatment for patients with non-small cell lung cancer and an ALK fusion mutation. Read Less

This is a phase 3, open-label, randomized, multi-center study assessing the efficacy and safety of DZD9008 versus platinum-based doublet chemotherapy in participants with locally advanced or metastatic NSCLC with EGFR Exon20ins mutation, who are newly diagnosed or have not received prior systemic therapy in advanced stage. Primary objective of this study is to assess the efficacy of DZD9008 versus platinum-based doublet chemotherapy using by BICR-assessed PFS per RECIST 1.1 as primary endpoint. ARGONAUT is a longitudinal, prospective, observational study that will enroll up to 5,000 advanced-stage cancer patients of diverse racial backgrounds to collect data used to develop precision microbiome medicines and for the identification of clinically actionable cancer-specific biomarkers to guide therapeutic decisions. Four types of solid tumor cancers will be profiled including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), triple negative breast cancer (TNBC), colorectal cancer (CRC) and pancreatic cancer. Healthy control subjects without a cancer diagnosis will also be studied, comprised of individuals at high risk for CRC and healthy individuals at low risk for CRC. Risk assessment will be based on family history or past neoplastic findings during CRC screening. Data collected from this study will be used to develop the most effective new therapies, via microbiome optimization, all to the benefit of patients and the physicians treating them. Stool and blood samples will be collected longitudinally and analyzed to determine the impact of gut microbiome composition and function on the immune system and efficacy of the treatment. Currently enrolling the CRC, high risk, and low risk cohorts. Subjects who meet the entry criteria will provide up to 5 samples each of blood and stool over a 2-year period. Approximately 10%-20% of the subjects will provide colon tissue samples, either from research biopsies during Standard of Care (SOC) screening colonoscopy or retained surgical tissue from colectomy. Electronic health records will be obtained at various times for up to 8 years, to collect tumor imaging results and any other updated medical data, with no additional samples collected.
