Phase 2b Trial Comparing HDV-Insulin Lispro to Insulin Lispro in Adults With Type 1 Diabetes Receiving Insulin Degludec
Recruiting
The goal of this study is to see if directing insulin to the liver will improve the low blood sugar that sometimes happens when injecting insulin in Type 1 diabetes patients. Participants will use continuous glucose monitoring to measure the sugar levels in their blood, and work with the doctor to find the best doses. One group of patients will get the liver targeting insulin, and the other group will use insulin they normally use for treating Type 1 diabetes. The participant will be part of the... Read More

Multi-center Trial in Adult and Pediatric Patients With Type 1 Diabetes Using Hybrid Closed Loop System and Control at Home
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the Hybrid Closed Loop system (HCL) in adult and pediatric patients with type 1 diabetes in the home setting. A diverse population of patients with type 1 diabetes will be studied. The study population will have a large range for duration of diabetes and glycemic control, as measured by glycosylated hemoglobin (A1C). They will be enrolled in the study regardless of their prior diabetes regimen, including using Multiple Dail... Read More

TrialNet Pathway to Prevention of T1D
Recruiting
Rationale: The accrual of data from the laboratory and from epidemiologic and prevention trials has improved the understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM). Genetic and immunologic factors play a key role in the development of T1DM, and characterization of the early metabolic abnormalities in T1DM is steadily increasing. However, information regarding the natural history of T1DM remains incomplete. The TrialNet Natural History Study of the Development of T... Read More

Embedded Primary Care MultiDisciplinary Diabetes Clinic
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to improve diabetes management for patients at Midtown General Internal Medicine Clinic (Aim 1). The clinic offers dedicated diabetes care on certain days with trained providers able to offer dedicated diabetes care. The clinic will also make sure to address other aspects of life and health that may impact an individual's ability to manage their diabetes - food insecurity, housing insecurity, knowing about healthy food, finding ways to exercise, and mental health. A Study to Evaluate ENERGI-F703 GEL in Diabetic Foot Ulcer
Recruiting
This Phase 3 study is a randomized, double-blind, vehicle-controlled, multiple-center, parallel study to evaluate efficacy and safety of ENERGI-F703 GEL compared with vehicle control in subjects with Wagner Grade 1 to Grade 2 diabetic foot ulcers. Baseline target ulcer size (<16 cm2 vs ≥16 cm2 ) will be included as a stratification factor. Subjects will be randomized 1:1 to receive ENERGI-F703 GEL or vehicle control using an interactive web response system for randomization to automatically assi... Read More

High Intensity Body-weight Circuit Training Feasibility and Efficacy for in Middle Aged Persons With Type 2 Diabetes
Recruiting
This research study proposes to quantify the efficacy of the novel high intensity body-weight circuit (HIBC) training intervention on metabolic profile, body composition, and health related fitness exercise in middle aged persons with type-2 diabetes (T2DM); and secondarily, compare these outcomes to that of a traditional exercise intervention (TEI). This research project is extremely relevant to public health, in that prevalence of T2DM continues to rise on a national and global scale, placing... Read More

Changing the Natural History of Type 2 Diabetes ("CHANGE" Study)
Recruiting
Diabetes is a disorder of high blood glucose, that tends to get worse; over time, patients need more and more drugs. This pattern is caused by overwork of the body's insulin-producing β-cells, because patients' glucose levels are typically above normal; if the investigators kept glucose levels normal - reducing β-cell work - the investigators might be able to keep the disease from getting worse. This trial is aimed to show that adjusting the drugs to keep glucose levels normal, can help to prese... Read More

Oral Anti Diabetic Agents in the Hospital
Recruiting
This randomized controlled clinical trial will assess whether continuation of home oral antidiabetic agents during hospitalization can be used as a safe and effective alternative to insulin therapy in the management of diabetes in the hospital. The primary outcome of the study is to determine differences in glycemic control as measured by mean daily blood glucose concentration between oral antidiabetic medications and basal bolus therapy in hospitalized patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D).

FreeStyle Libre 2 Discharge Trial
Recruiting
The goal of this clinical trial is to learn about the benefits of using aa Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) system in patients with diabetes following discharge from the hospital. The main question it aims to answer is: • If the use of CGM with alarms is safe and effective for managing low and/or high blood sugars when compared with performing finger sticks several times per day Participants will wear one or two FreeStyle Libre CGM sensors for 12-14 days three times over a 12-week (3 month)...
