The state of Michigan currently has 104 active clinical trials seeking participants for Breast Cancer research studies. These trials are conducted in various cities, including Ann Arbor, Detroit, Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo.
S1501 Carvedilol in Preventing Cardiac Toxicity in Patients With Metastatic HER-2-Positive Breast Cancer
Recruiting
This phase III trial studies how well carvedilol works in preventing cardiac toxicity in patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor (HER)-2-positive breast cancer that has spread to other places in the body. A beta-blocker, such as carvedilol, is used to treat heart failure and high blood pressure, and it may prevent the heart from side effects of chemotherapy.

Adaptive Symptom Self-Management Immunotherapy Study
Recruiting
The use of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), alone or in combination with other cancer treatments is increasing dramatically with immune-related adverse events (irAEs) common (90%) during ICI treatment. Most irAEs are symptomatic and symptom self-management with timely reporting of moderate or severe symptoms to health care providers (HCPs) may reduce irAE severity by early recognition and management, resulting in fewer treatment interruptions and unscheduled health services.

Acupressure for Aromatase Inhibitor-Associated Musculoskeletal Symptoms in Patients With Breast Cancer
Recruiting
This is a randomized, double-blinded trial of self-acupressure to examine the effect of treatment on aromatase inhibitor (AI)-associated musculoskeletal symptoms (AIMSS) in postmenopausal women with breast cancer. Acupressure is similar to acupuncture, but uses pressure rather than needles to stimulate specific points on the body. Acupressure involves applying mild to moderate physical pressure using your fingers, or an assistive device, to these points to try to bring about a physiological chan... Read More

Fezolinetant for the Improvement of Vasomotor Symptoms in Breast Cancer Patients Taking Endocrine Therapy, VENT Trial
Recruiting
This phase II trial tests how well fezolinetant works in improving vasomotor symptoms (VMS) in breast cancer patients taking endocrine therapy (ET). Anti-hormone treatments are effective for lowering the risk of breast cancer but can cause bothersome VMS, such as hot flashes and night sweats. Fezolinetant inhibits the activity of the neurokinin type 3 receptor and has shown activity against VMS in postmenopausal women. Taking fezolinetant may work well at improving VMS in breast cancer patients... Read More

A Phase 1/2 Clinical Trial to Assess the Safety, Tolerability, Pharmacokinetics and Preliminary Efficacy of ENV-501 in Patients With HER3-Expressing Solid Tumors
Recruiting
This study is a Phase 1/2, first-in-human, open-label, clinical trial to assess the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and preliminary efficacy of ENV-501 in patients with advanced-stage, relapsed and/or refractory human epidermal growth factor receptor 3 (HER3)-expressing solid tumors. The study consists of 2 phases: a dose escalation phase (Phase 1) and a dose expansion phase (Phase 2). The primary objectives of Phase 1 are to characterize the overall safety and tolerability profile of in... Read More

S1703 Serum Tumor Marker Directed Disease Monitoring in Patients With Hormone Receptor Positive Her2 Negative Metastatic Breast Cancer
Recruiting
This randomized research trial studies how well serum tumor marker directed disease monitoring works in monitoring patients with hormone receptor positive Her2 negative breast cancer that has spread to other places in the body. Using markers to prompt when scans should be ordered may be as good as the usual approach to monitoring disease.

Pharmacokinetic Study of Skeletal Muscle Area-based Paclitaxel Infusion in Patients With Cancer
Recruiting
The primary objective of this pharmacokinetics study is to compare the maximum concentration level of paclitaxel in patients with low/sarcopenic skeletal muscle area (SMA), at the end of a 2-3 hour paclitaxel infusion, to the maximum level in patients with normal SMA at the end of a standard 1-hour infusion with the goal of determining whether lengthening the infusion in patients with low/sarcopenic SMA normalizes the levels to those of patients with normal SMA.
