This is a pilot, two-arm, randomized, blinded, placebo-controlled cross-over clinical trial to study the safety and effect of 14 days of kava on anxiety and physiologic stress in survivors of cancer and its treatment. Participants will be randomized to take either kava first or placebo first. Kava 75 mg or placebo will be taken three time daily (TID) for 14 days (Period 1), followed by a washout period of 14-28 days. Thereafter, the participant will take either placebo or kava TID for 14 days (Period 2), whichever he/she did not take in Period 1. Read Less

This screening and multi-sub-study randomized phase II/III trial will establish a method for genomic screening of similar large cancer populations followed by assigning and accruing simultaneously to a multi-sub-study hybrid Master Protocol (Lung-MAP). The type of cancer trait (biomarker) will determine to which sub-study, within this protocol, a participant will be assigned to compare new targeted cancer therapy, designed to block the growth and spread of cancer, or combinations to standard of care therapy with the ultimate goal of being able to approve new targeted therapies in this setting. This is a single center Phase I clinical trial of FT536 administered intraperitoneally (IP) 3 times a week for one week for the treatment of recurrent gynecologic cancers. A short course of outpatient lymphodepleting chemotherapy is given prior to the first dose of FT536 to promote adoptive transfer. Read Less

Pleuropulmonary blastoma (PPB) is a rare malignant neoplasm of the lung presenting in early childhood. Type I PPB is a purely cystic lesion, Type II is a partially cystic, partially solid tumor, Type III is a completely solid tumor. Treatment of children with PPB is at the discretion of the treating institution. This study builds off of the 2009 study and will also seek to enroll individuals with DICER1-associated conditions, some of whom may present only with the DICER1 gene mutation, which will help the Registry understand how these tumors and conditions develop, their clinical course and the most effective treatments. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of selinexor as a maintenance treatment in patients with p53 wt endometrial carcinoma (EC), who have achieved a partial response (PR) or complete response (CR) (per Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors version 1.1 \[RECIST v 1.1\]) after completing at least 12 weeks of platinum-based therapy. This phase III trial studies how well trastuzumab emtansine (T-DM1) and tucatinib work in preventing breast cancer from coming back (relapsing) in patients with high risk, HER2 positive breast cancer. T-DM1 is a monoclonal antibody, called trastuzumab, linked to a chemotherapy drug, called DM1. Trastuzumab is a form of targeted therapy because it attaches to specific molecules (receptors) on the surface of cancer cells, known as HER2 receptors, and delivers DM1 to kill them. Tucatinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving T-DM1 and tucatinib may work better in preventing breast cancer from relapsing in patients with HER2 positive breast cancer compared to T-DM1 alone. Read Less

The goal of the GC-PRO study is to try to make genetic counseling better for people of all backgrounds. We are asking participants to complete two surveys and to allow audio recording of their genetic counseling visit. The purpose of the study is to understand whether trying different ways of doing genetic counseling will lead to better experiences for patients. The research team is also working with partners from the Somali, Latino/Hispanic, Black/African American, and Hmong communities to make sure the research is being done in a way that will benefit underserved communities. This phase III trial compares the effect of adding carboplatin to the standard of care chemotherapy drug cabazitaxel versus cabazitaxel alone in treating prostate cancer that keeps growing even when the amount of testosterone in the body is reduced to very low levels (castrate-resistant) and that has spread from where it first started (primary site) to other places in the body (metastatic). Carboplatin is in a class of medications known as platinum-containing compounds. Carboplatin works by killing, stopping or slowing the growth of tumor cells. Chemotherapy drugs, such as cabazitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Prednisone is often given together with chemotherapy drugs. Prednisone is in a class of medications called corticosteroids. It is used to reduce inflammation and lower the body's immune response to help lessen the side effects of chemotherapy drugs and to help the chemotherapy work. Giving carboplatin with the standard of care chemotherapy drug cabazitaxel may be better at treating metastatic castrate-resistant prostate cancer. Read Less

Breast cancer is the second most common cancer in women. One in five women who have been treated for breast cancer develop lymphedema. Lymphedema is a very common result of breast cancer and its treatment. Lymphedema is the build-up of fluid in tissues, which results in tissue swelling. The lymph system is a network of lymph vessels, tissues, and organs that carry extra fluid from your cells/tissues throughout the body. If this lymph fluid is not able to flow in the body how it should, there will be swelling which can lead to lymphedema. It can be classified into stages 0 to 3 depending on the severity of the condition. Stages 0 and 1 are reversible, and through early diagnosis and treatment, the recovery to the normal volume and normal skin status of arms can be possible. On the other hand, stage 2 or higher is irreversible, and tissue fibrosis progresses and cannot return to normal skin; therefore, it is important to detect early and start treatment. This is an observational longitudinal study. Potential participants will be recruited for follow-up after breast cancer surgery. Only patients who fit the inclusion criteria will be considered for participation in the study and contacted by the healthcare provider.
