Testing the Use of Ado-Trastuzumab Emtansine Compared to the Usual Treatment (Chemotherapy With Docetaxel Plus Trastuzumab) for Recurrent, Metastatic, or Unresectable HER2-Positive Salivary Gland Cancer
Recruiting
This phase II trial tests whether ado-trastuzumab emtansine works to shrink tumors in patients with HER2-positive salivary gland cancer that has come back (recurrent), spread to other places in the body (metastatic), or cannot be removed by surgery (unresectable). Trastuzumab emtansine is a monoclonal antibody, called trastuzumab, linked to a chemotherapy drug called emtansine. Trastuzumab attaches to HER2 positive cancer cells in a targeted way and delivers emtansine to kill them. Trastuzumab e... Read More

An Internet-based Program to Help Cancer Survivors Manage Pain
Recruiting
To determine whether an Internet-based pain coping skills program plus enhanced usual care, compared to enhanced usual care alone, yields significant improvements in the co-primary outcomes of pain severity (as measured by the Brief Pain Inventory (BPI)) and pain interference (also measured by the BPI) from baseline to the post-intervention assessment for cancer survivors with persistent pain.

Patient-centered Educational Material to Improve Colposcopy Adherence
Recruiting
The long-term goal is to develop, test, and disseminate a social needs navigator intervention that improves colposcopy adherence. Based on stakeholder feedback, this study addresses the need to include patient-centered educational material to the navigator program in order to improve patients' health literacy regarding cervical cancer prevention.

Study of CTX-471 as a Monotherapy or in Combination With Pembrolizumab in Patients Post PD-1/PD-L1 Inhibitors in Metastatic or Locally Advanced Malignancies
Recruiting
This is a Phase 1, open-label, first-in-human study of CTX-471 administered as a monotherapy or in combination with pembrolizumab in patients with metastatic or locally advanced malignancies that have progressed while receiving an approved PD-1 or PD-L1 inhibitor. The study will be conducted in 2 treatment arms (Monotherapy Arm 1 and Combination Arm 2). Each arm will have two parts: Part 1 Dose Escalation and Part 2 Dose Expansion.

Ramucirumab and Pembrolizumab vs Pembrolizumab Monotherapy in PD-L1 Positive Head and Neck Squamous-Cell Carcinoma
Recruiting
This is a phase 2 study investigating the efficacy of ramucirumab in combination with pembrolizumab compared to pembrolizumab monotherapy. Ramucirumab is a VEGFR-2 inhibitor believed to potentially enhance the efficacy of PD-1 inhibitors such as pembrolizumab.

Ultrasound and Photoacoustic Imaging of Colon and Rectal Tumor Tissue
Recruiting
The purpose of this pilot study is to a) explore the photoacoustic properties of normal, polypoid, and malignant colorectal tissue and b) demonstrate the functionality of a novel endorectal photoacoustic ultrasound probe in humans with rectal cancer. The study includes two parts. The initial exploratory portion will be conducted ex vivo with resected colon and rectal specimens immediately following surgical excision. Based on those findings, an endorectal probe will then be constructed to examin... Read More

TrAstuzumab Cardiomyopathy Therapeutic Intervention With Carvedilol
Recruiting
Breast cancer patients undergoing trastuzumab-based HER2-directed therapy are at risk of heart function decline or heart failure symptoms, but it is unknown if, when, and for how long cardiovascular protective strategies, e.g. with a beta-blocker, could help. This study randomly assigns those taking curative-intent trastuzumab-based HER2-directed therapy to the beta-blocker carvedilol-either when significant heart function decline or subtle early signs of heart injury (either by elevation of a c... Testing the Addition of Whole Brain Radiotherapy Using a Technique That Avoids the Hippocampus to Stereotactic Radiosurgery in People With Cancer That Has Spread to the Brain and Come Back in Other Areas of the Brain After Earlier Stereotactic Radiosurgery
Recruiting
This phase III trial compares the effect of adding whole brain radiotherapy with hippocampal avoidance and memantine to stereotactic radiosurgery versus stereotactic radiosurgery alone in treating patients with cancer that has spread to the brain and come back in other areas of the brain after earlier stereotactic radiosurgery. Hippocampus avoidance during whole-brain radiation therapy decreases the amount of radiation that is delivered to the hippocampus, which is a brain structure that is impo... Read More

Circulating Tumor DNA (ctDNA) for Early Treatment Response Assessment of Solid Tumors
Recruiting
Earlier detection of disease recurrence will enable greater treatment options and has strong potential to improve patient outcomes. This project is translational and has the potential to lead to future translational research opportunities, including interventional trials in which therapeutic escalation is offered at the early circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) molecular residual disease (MRD) detection timepoint. Ultimately, the integration of ctDNA into the clinical workflow has the potential to enh... Read More
