Radiation Therapy With or Without Cisplatin in Treating Patients With Stage III-IVA Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Head and Neck Who Have Undergone Surgery
Recruiting
This phase II trial studies how well radiation therapy with or without cisplatin works in treating patients with stage III-IVA squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck who have undergone surgery. Radiation therapy uses high energy x-rays to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. It is not yet kno... Read More

Clinical Trial Assessing the Safety of Neoadjuvant Palbociclib in Combination With Endocrine Therapy
Recruiting
Patients with estrogen receptor positive (ER+) and/or progesterone receptor positive (PR+) breast cancer do not achieve good responses with pre-operative chemotherapy. The sensitivity of breast cancer to chemotherapy is often determined by the underlying gene expression pattern and the molecular subtype of the tumor. In addition, not all patients tolerate chemotherapy well. Pre-operative endocrine therapy has emerged as an effective strategy to improve outcomes in patients with early-stage hormo... Read More

Safety & Efficacy of Consolidative Hypofractionated Radiation Therapy for Boosting Residual Lung Cancer With Durvalumab
Recruiting
This study is designed to determine if combining consolidative radiation therapy (RT) using a hypofractionated regimen (hfRT) (2 fractions) for boosting the residual primary lung cancer with adjuvant anti-PD-L1 therapy concurrently is safe and will provide better tumor control locoregionally and distantly than either modality alone.

Carboplatin Chemotherapy Before Surgery for People With High-Risk Prostate Cancer and an Inherited BRCA1 or BRCA2 Gene Mutation
Recruiting
This phase II trial tests how well carboplatin before surgery works in treating patients with high-risk prostate cancer and an inherited BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene mutation. Carboplatin is in a class of medications known as platinum-containing compounds. It works in a way similar to the anticancer drug cisplatin, but may be better tolerated than cisplatin. Carboplatin works by killing, stopping, or slowing the growth of tumor cells. Giving carboplatin before surgery may shrink tumors in patients with h... Read More

Crizotinib in Treating Patients With Stage IB-IIIA Non-small Cell Lung Cancer That Has Been Removed by Surgery and ALK Fusion Mutations (An ALCHEMIST Treatment Trial)
Recruiting
This randomized phase III trial studies how well crizotinib works in treating patients with stage IB-IIIA non-small cell lung cancer that has been removed by surgery and has a mutation in a protein called anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK). Mutations, or changes, in ALK can make it very active and important for tumor cell growth and progression. Crizotinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking the ALK protein from working. Crizotinib may be an effective treatment for patients with non-sma... Read More

Comparing Combinations of Targeted Drugs for Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer That Has EGFR and MET Gene Changes (A Lung-MAP Treatment Trial)
Recruiting
This phase II Lung-MAP treatment trial test the combination of targeted drugs (capmatinib, osimertinib, and/or ramucirumab) in treating patients with non-small cell lung cancer that may have spread from where it first started to nearby tissue, lymph nodes, or distant parts of the body (advanced) and that has EGFR and MET gene changes. This phase II trial studies the effect of the combination of ramucirumab and trifluridine/tipiracil or paclitaxel in treating patients with previously treated gastric or gastroesophageal junction cancer that has spread to other places in the body (advanced). Ramucirumab may damage tumor cells by targeting new blood vessel formation. Trifluridine/tipiracil is a chemotherapy pill and that may damage tumor cells by damaging their deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). Paclitaxel may block cell growth by stop... Read More

TPIV100 and Sargramostim for the Treatment of HER2 Positive, Stage II-III Breast Cancer in Patients With Residual Disease After Chemotherapy and Surgery
Recruiting
This phase II trial studies how well TPIV100 and sargramostim work in treating patients with HER2 positive, stage II-III breast cancer that has residual disease after chemotherapy prior to surgery. It also studies why some HER2 positive breast cancer patients respond better to chemotherapy in combination with trastuzumab and pertuzumab. TPIV100 is a type of vaccine made from HER2 peptide that may help the body build an effective immune response to kill tumor cells that express HER2. Sargramostim... Read More
