This phase I/II trial studies the side effects and how well fluorescence image guided surgery followed by intraoperative photodynamic therapy for improving local tumor control in patients with colorectal cancer that has spread to nearby tissue or lymph nodes (locally advanced) or that has come back after a period of improvement (recurrent). Fluorescence image guided surgery uses a drug named aminolevulinic acid hydrochloride. Aminolevulinic acid hydrochloride is a photosensitizing agent, meaning that is activated by light and, is converted to another drug in cancer cells more than in normal cells. The converted drug emits fluorescence red light when activated with low power blue light. It is used to assist the surgeon to see cancer cells and small cancerous tissue that may have been missed during routine surgery. In addition to emitting fluorescence light, the converted drug in the cancer cells and tissue can be activated with red laser light to kill cancer cells. This procedure is called photodynamic therapy (PDT). Performing fluorescence image guided surgery followed by intraoperative photodynamic therapy after the surgical removal of the colorectal tumor before the surgical site will be closed may be effective and improve outcomes in patients with locally advanced or recurrent colorectal cancer. This phase III trial compares memantine to usual treatment in treating patients with primary central nervous system tumors. Memantine may block receptors (parts of nerve cells) in the brain known to contribute to a decline in cognitive function. Giving memantine may make a difference in cognitive function (attention, memory, or other thought processes) in children and adolescents receiving brain radiation therapy to treat a primary central nervous system tumors. This study is a prospective, multicenter, randomized controlled trial of an interventional strategy using the ClotTriever System to achieve and maintain vessel patency (ClotTriever Intervention Arm) versus conservative medical management using anticoagulation therapy alone (Conservative Medical Management Arm) in the treatment of subjects with symptomatic unilateral iliofemoral DVT. This study assesses how blood cell growth patterns (clonal hematopoiesis), relates to heart health or cardiovascular disease (CVD) after treatment in patients with Hodgkin lymphoma. In some patients, cancer treatment at a young age may lead to later complications, including problems with heart health. Checking for blood cell growth patterns called therapy-related clonal hematopoiesis (t-CH) can help predict who might be at risk for heart health problems after Hodgkin lymphoma treatment. If doctors know who may be at greater risk for developing later heart complications, then they can more closely monitor those patients to prevent or detect heart complications early. Read Less

This phase II trial investigates the effect of belantamab mafodotin and lenalidomide on minimal residual disease negative rates in patients with multiple myeloma with minimal residual disease positive after stem cell transplant. Belantamab mafodotin is a monoclonal antibody, called belantamab, linked to a chemotherapy drug, called mafodotin. Belantamab is a form of targeted therapy because it attaches to specific molecules (receptors) on the surface of cancer cells, known as B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) receptors, and delivers mafodotin to kill them. Lenalidomide may help block the formation of growths that may become cancer, and is used as a standard of care treatment for multiple myeloma. Giving belantamab mafodotin and lenalidomide may help to maintain minimal residual disease negativity in patients with multiple myeloma. Read Less

The objective of this study is to test the effect of smoking cessation in pregnancy or in lactation on preventing rapid infant adiposity gain. Investigators propose a randomized, controlled experiment among smoking pregnant women from 1st prenatal care visit through 6 months of postpartum period. Two-phase randomization will be applied to separate the effects of smoking cessation in two different critical periods (i.e., pregnancy and lactation) on infant adiposity gain. Investigators will first randomly assign 40 smoking pregnant women into either the multicomponent intervention (N=30) or the education-only control group (N=10). The multicomponent intervention group will receive education and counseling, monitoring and feedback, contingent financial incentives, and family support, while the control group will receive education only. At the end of pregnancy, investigators will further randomize successful quitters (estimated N=20) from the multi-component intervention group into either the continuous multi-component intervention group in lactation (N=10) or the education-only control group (N=10). All women and their newborns will be followed from enrollment to 6 months postpartum. The key outcomes include maternal smoking abstinence confirmed by urine-cotinine and infant gain in weight-for-length z-score. Specific Aim 1 is to examine the effects of maternal smoking cessation intervention in pregnancy on infant gain in weight-for-length z-score from birth to 6 months. Specific Aim 2 is to examine the effect of maternal smoking abstinence intervention in lactation and infant post-weaning gain in weight-for-length z-score among the women who have successfully quit smoking in pregnancy. This clinical trial tests the effect of tobacco flavor and liquid composition on the way a person puffs on a vape (topography). In general, tobacco products are designed with sensory factors in mind, such as flavor, to increase the appeal. Flavors and the composition of nicotine, either made in a lab (synthetic) or from tobacco, may create positive sensory effects, such as look, feel and taste, and influence smoking behavior and willingness to try different types of cigarettes. Understanding how nicotine vaping products are used is important in assessing individual and population level health risks. Vape flavors and synthetic nicotine may be related to harmful effects on health from vaping and may impact the appeal, risk beliefs and vaping topography. Read Less

This clinical trial evaluates the impact of an education and navigation support tool (ENST) on patient and caregiver participation in care coordination for bladder cancer that has spread to nearby tissue or lymph nodes (locally advanced), to other places in the body (metastatic) or that cannot be removed by surgery (unresectable). Patients with advanced bladder cancer tend to be older, have multiple medical conditions and often have poor access to health care. An ENST may be an effective method to improve participation in treatment decision-making and care planning among patients with locally advanced, metastatic and unresectable bladder cancer and their caregivers.
