The state of New York currently has 210 active clinical trials seeking participants for Breast Cancer research studies. These trials are conducted in various cities, including New York, Rochester, Bronx and Buffalo.
A Study of Tucatinib Given Before Surgery to People With HER2+ Cancers That Have Spread to the Brain
Recruiting
The purpose of this study to see how the brain absorbs, distributes, and gets rid of tucatinib in people who have HER2+ cancers (breast cancer, NSCLC, CRC, or GEC) that have spread to the brain, and to learn more about how cancer cells develop resistance to treatment. The researchers will do research tests to look for genetic differences between HER2+ breast cancer that has spread to the brain and progressed during treatment with tucatinib and cancers that are being treated with tucatinib for th... Generation of Heart Muscle Cells From Blood or Skin Cells of Breast Cancer Patients
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to investigate whether cells from a biopsy taken from the patient skin can be transformed into cardiomyocytes the changes in cardiomyocyte (heart muscle cells) when grown in a special culture medium outside of the body. The structure and function of these cells will then be studied to determine why some patients with breast cancer who are treated with chemotherapy including anthracycline (e.g. Doxorubicin) and anti-HER2 therapy (e.g. Herceptin) develop decreased hear... MammaPrint, BluePrint, and Full-genome Data Linked With Clinical Data to Evaluate New Gene EXpression Profiles
Recruiting
The FLEX Registry will be implemented to operate as a large-scale, population based, prospective registry. All patients with stage I to III breast cancer who receive MammaPrint® and BluePrint testing on a primary breast tumor are eligible for entry into the FLEX Registry, which is intended to enable additional study arms at low incremental effort and cost. FLEX Registry will utilize an adaptive design, where additional targeted substudies and arms can be added after the initial study is opened.

SHARON: A Clinical Trial for Metastatic Cancer With a BRCA or PALB2 Mutation Using Chemotherapy and Patients' Own Stem Cells
Recruiting
The clinical trial is a phase 1, single-arm trial that will evaluate the safety of the investigational treatment on metastatic cancer in patients who have a deleterious or suspected deleterious BRCA1, BRCA2, or PALB2 genetic alteration. The investigational treatment will involve 2 cycles of a combination of intravenous melphalan, BCNU, low-dose I.V. ethanol, vitamin B12b, and vitamin C in association with autologous hematopoietic stem cell infusion. A dose-escalation schedule will be employed fo... Read More

Effects of MK-3475 (Pembrolizumab) on the Breast Tumor Microenvironment in Triple Negative Breast Cancer
Recruiting
Assess response to pembrolizumab in both primary tumor, normal breast stroma, circulating lymphocytes and serum exosomes in treatment naive triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) patients. Assess for change in tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILS) both stromal (sTILS) and intraepithelial (iTILS) in newly diagnosed early stage TNBC patients treated with two doses of MK-3475 prior to lumpectomy.

Comparison of the Breast Tumor Microenvironment
Recruiting
The goal of the project is to identify a molecular signature of tumor stroma from "normal" adjacent breast tissue obtained prospectively at the time of breast conserving surgery before and after receiving intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT) in subjects that have luminal A and triple negative breast cancer. IORT is considered as being standard of care.

Phase II Protocol of Proton Therapy for Partial Breast Irradiation in Early Stage Breast Cancer
Recruiting
The purpose of this research study is to compare the effects (good and bad) on women and their cancer using proton radiation therapy. Leflunomide in Previously Treated Metastatic Triple Negative Cancers
Recruiting
Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) represents about 15% of breast cancers and is characterized by the lack of expression of estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR), and HER-2 non-amplification. Women with TNBC tend to be younger, African American, and BRCA-1 germline carriers. The hallmark of this subtype is early metastatic recurrences with a peak frequency 1-2 years. Prognosis for metastatic TNBC is especially poor with median survival of about 1 year as compared to about 2-4 year... Read More
