Cancer Paid Clinical Trials in New York

This is an observational study involving the collection of patient-generated health data using an Apple Watch, a home pulse oximeter, and a smartphone during a course of proton beam radiotherapy for lung cancer. The study period over which this information is collected will range from the day of study enrollment until two weeks after radiotherapy completion. Subjects will complete a short satisfaction survey at the end of the study period. The standard treatment for patients with Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) and clinically negative lymph nodes remains surgery per current guidelines. Five year survival for patients with stage I non-small cell lung cancer is generally greater than 50% after surgery. Many of these patients have heart and lung issues or other diseases which keep them from undergoing curative surgery. Studies have shown that majority of these patients die from their cancer and not from their other diseases. This is the reason for treating early stage lung cancer patients with definitive therapy, when they cannot have surgery. The purpose of this study is learn more about how being treated for breast cancer affects patients' employment. Researchers are testing an early version of a mobile app designed to help breast cancer patients keep their jobs during and after treatment. The app provides advice for patients to use when having conversations about breast cancer with their employers and their doctors. The app is called TEAMWork (Talking to Employers And Medical staff about Work). In this study, the investigators are asking breast cancer patients who are about to receive treatment or who are currently receiving treatment to tell us what aspects of the app work well, so that they can learn how to improve it. Newly diagnosed post-menopausal women with clinical stage II-III, HR+HER2- breast cancer are eligible to a randomized trial, concurrently open at five US academic institutions. The Investigators are investigating the potential role of MRI-guided Radiation Therapy for patients receiving breast radiotherapy in the prone position with a MRI-Linac radiotherapy system, the Precision Prone Irradiation (PPI) technique.
