This study is being done to see if a new psychotherapy intervention called Cancer and Aging: Reflections for Elders (CARE) can effectively treat depression and distress in older cancer patients. CARE is a 5-session intervention that takes place over the phone. This study will compare CARE with the Social Work and Supportive Counseling (SWSC) intervention, which also takes place over the phone. SWSC is a standard psychotherapeutic intervention that has been shown to be a supportive and effective form of treatment for distress for patients with cancer. The purpose of this study is to see if ultrasound images that are analyzed by a special computer program can be used to measure the size of PDAC tumors in the liver as accurately as CT scans that involve contrast material (also called contrast-enhanced CT scans). All participants in this study will have pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) that has spread (metastasized) to the liver, and all participants will be scheduled for a routine CT scan that will measure their cancer. Participants in this study will have Multispectral Optoacoustic Tomography/MSOT imaging of both breasts immediately before their ultrasound-guided breast biopsy procedure begins. After the MSO imaging is completed, participation in the study will end. Read Less

The purpose of this study is to find out whether avutometinib is a safe treatment for advanced or recurrent solid tumor cancers in children and young adults. Researchers will look for the highest dose of avutometinib that is safe and cause few or mild side effects. Read Less

The purpose of this study is to test whether acupuncture can improve nocturia in prostate cancer survivors. This is the first time acupuncture is being studied for nocturia in prostate cancer survivors. Researchers will see if acupuncture is a practical treatment option for prostate cancer survivors with nocturia. The study will also look at the effect acupuncture has on nocturia and other symptoms prostate cancer survivors experience such as insomnia, hot flashes, anxiety, depression, tiredness (fatigue), sexual dysfunction, and cognitive (mental) difficulties. This is an investigator initiated study to test the efficacy of an upright MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) for the screening of prostate cancer. The purpose of this study is to compare Upright MRI as a technique to PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) and current MRI imaging. It will take place at Mount Sinai Hospital, and last for a total of about 5 years. Eligible patients will be determined by the urologist. The target population is men who are at risk for prostate cancer, as determined by the urologist. Diagnostic criteria will include elevated PSA and an abnormal digital rectal exam (DRE). After patients are screened and determined eligible, they will be asked to have a seated MRI using the Indomitable Magnetic Resonance Imaging Scanner, Ex vivo magnetic resonance imaging using 0.6 T strength, as well as a standard of care closed 3T MRI. After each scan, the patient will be given a series of questionnaires to assess their comfort level during the scan. The goal of this clinical research trial is to study the use of differing investigational doses and scheduling for Proton Therapy for tumors previously treated with radiation therapy. Generally, when patients are first treated for cancer with radiation therapy, they are treated with traditional photon (or x-ray) radiation therapy, which uses high-energy waves to kill tumor cells. In some cases, the cancer either returns or a new tumor can present in a different part of the body. With the usual radiation treatment, the photon beams travel all the way through the body. As a result, healthy tissues in front of and behind the tumor are exposed to radiation. Physicians who treat these cases where the tumor has returned often use a much lower dose of radiation to prevent patients from experiencing serious and long-term side-effects. This dose is often not strong enough to destroy the cancerous tumor. Alternatively, they may also treat a smaller area than would be indicated for complete tumor eradication, again in an attempt to prevent serious and long-term toxicities, but at the cost of optimally treating the cancer. Proton therapy, however, may offer a chance to safely deliver a more effective dose and volume of radiation as it is more targeted and can spare healthy tissues surrounding the tumor. The reason we are conducting this research study is to look at whether Proton therapy can be a better way to treat reoccurring tumors in patients who have previously received radiation therapy to the same area, compared to treatment approaches used to date. The purpose of this study is to test any good and bad effects of the study drug 131I-omburtamab. 131I-omburtamab could prevent the cancer from returning, or delay the cancer from getting worse, but it could also cause side effects. Researchers hope to learn more about how 131I-omburtamab works in the body, and how effective it is in treating cancer. 131I-Omburtamab is not approved by the FDA to treat DSRCT or other cancers of the peritoneum. This phase III trial compares pembrolizumab with radiation therapy to pembrolizumab without radiation therapy (standard therapy) given after pembrolizumab plus chemotherapy for the treatment of patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck that has spread from where it first started (primary site) to other places in the body (metastatic). Pembrolizumab is a type of immunotherapy that stimulates the body's immune system to fight cancer cells. Pembrolizumab targets and blocks a protein called PD-1 on the surface of certain immune cells called T-cells. Blocking PD-1 triggers the T-cells to find and kill cancer cells. Radiation therapy uses high-powered rays to kill cancer cells. Giving radiation with pembrolizumab may be more effective at treating patients with metastatic head and neck cancer than the standard therapy of giving pembrolizumab alone. Read Less
