The city of Columbus, Ohio, currently has 70 active clinical trials seeking participants for Breast Cancer research studies.
A Video Intervention to Improve Patient Understanding of Tumor Genomic Testing in Patients With Metastatic Cancer
Recruiting
This clinical trial tests whether a video intervention improves patient understanding of tumor genomic testing in patients with cancer that has spread to other parts of the body (metastatic). Measuring how the video intervention affects patient understanding of tumor genomic testing in patients with metastatic cancer may help doctors provide patient-centered care by effectively communicating the importance of tumor genomic testing.

Peri-Operative Immune Checkpoint Inhibition and Cryoablation in Women With Triple-negative Breast Cancer
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of pre-operative cryoablation, and immune checkpoint inhibition (ICI) on on 3-year Event Free Survival (EFS), in women with residual hormone receptor negative, HER2-negative ("triple negative") resectable breast cancer after taxane-based neoadjuvant chemotherapy.

Remote Assessment of Cognition, Insulin Resistance and Omega-3 Fatty Acid Biomarkers in Breast Cancer Survivors
Recruiting
Majority of breast cancer survivors are overweight or obese at time of diagnosis, putting them at increased risk for insulin resistance and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). Women with insulin resistance at time of breast cancer diagnosis often have larger tumors, later stages of cancer and worse prognosis. Additionally, chemotherapy often leads to increases in insulin resistance and cognitive impairment. Many cancer survivors experience memory and brain function decline following chemotherapy th... Comprehensive Outcomes for After Cancer Health
Recruiting
This study intends to explore feasibility, acceptability, and outcomes related to the use of a digital health coaching intervention for individuals who have completed primary therapy for cancer. Up to 500 individuals with diverse cancer diagnoses will be enrolled across up to 5 clinical sites to participate in a randomized wait-list control study. Those in the intervention group will receive 6 months of digital coaching up front followed by 6 months of ongoing monitoring via patient reported and... Read More

IORT Following Breast Conserving Surgery for Early Stage Breast Cancer Registry
Recruiting
This is a prospective, registry trial which will enroll women aged 65 and above with early stage, low risk breast cancer who will be treated with partial mastectomy and intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT). The primary aim is to determine the 5-year risk of in-breast tumor recurrence. Secondary aims include identification of acute- and late-toxicity, cosmetic result, disease-free survival and overall survival.

Pilot Study of a MIND Diet Intervention in Women Undergoing Active Treatment for Breast Cancer
Recruiting
Breast cancer (BC) is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in women. Systemic cancer treatments are an important contributor to dramatic improvements in the long-term survival of women with BC. However, cancer treatment can lead to cognitive impairment and declines in quality of life in women with BC. Many cancer survivors experience memory and brain function decline following chemotherapy which can last for years. A newer diet pattern, Mediterranean-DASH [Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension... Read More

Recruiting
This is a Phase 3, open-label, randomized, clinical trial evaluating the efficacy and safety of gedatolisib plus fulvestrant with or without palbociclib for the treatment of patients with locally advanced or metastatic HR+/HER2- breast cancer following progression on or after CDK4/6 and aromatase inhibitor therapy.

Therapeutic Cancer Vaccine (AST-301, pNGVL3-hICD) in Patients With Breast Cancer
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of an adjuvant treatment of therapeutic cancer vaccine (AST-301, pNGVL3-hICD) in patients with HER2-low expression (IHC 1+ or 2+ and ISH-) and hormone receptor-negative(ER-, PR-) breast cancer with residual disease after neoadjuvant treatment. Patients will be randomized 1:1 to either the Experimental arm (combination of AST-301/rhuGM CSF and standard adjuvant therapy) or the Control arm (combination of placebo/rhuGM CSF and stand... Endocrine Therapy Fulvestrant & Palbociclib or Aromatase Inhibitor Therapy in Treating Older Patients With Hormone Responsive Breast Cancer That Cannot Be Removed by Surgery
Recruiting
This phase II clinical trial studies how well fulvestrant and palbociclib works in treating older patients with breast cancer that responds to hormone treatment (hormone responsive) that cannot be removed by surgery. Estrogen can cause the growth of estrogen-receptor-positive breast cancer cells. Hormone therapy using fulvestrant may fight estrogen-receptor-positive breast cancer by blocking the use of estrogen by the tumor cells. Palbociclib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some o... Read More

Intraoperative Electron Beam Radiotherapy Boost in Treating Patients With Stage I-II Breast Cancer Undergoing Surgery With Reconstruction
Recruiting
This phase II trial studies the side effects of intraoperative electron beam radiotherapy boost and to see how well it works in treating patients with stage I-II breast cancer undergoing surgery with reconstruction. Giving a single dose of electron beam radiation to the tumor cavity during the breast surgery before reconstruction may be a better way to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors.
