The state of Ohio currently has 130 active clinical trials seeking participants for Breast Cancer research studies. These trials are conducted in various cities, including Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland and Dayton.
Real World Treatment Experience of Patients With Breast, Lung, Ovarian, Multiple Myeloma, or Acute Myelogenous Leukemia Using Remote Symptom Monitoring
Recruiting
The goal of this study is to create a data set to add to Carevive's registry from real world clinical and patient reported data collected using an electronic care planning system (CPS) with remote symptom monitoring that is used in routine care for cancer patients on active treatment. Patients will complete a baseline survey in person using a secured device or remotely using their own electronic device in a location of their choice. Weekly electronic patient reported outcome (PRO) surveys are c... Read More

Pilot Study of a MIND Diet Intervention in Women Undergoing Active Treatment for Breast Cancer
Recruiting
Breast cancer (BC) is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in women. Systemic cancer treatments are an important contributor to dramatic improvements in the long-term survival of women with BC. However, cancer treatment can lead to cognitive impairment and declines in quality of life in women with BC. Many cancer survivors experience memory and brain function decline following chemotherapy which can last for years. A newer diet pattern, Mediterranean-DASH [Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension... Read More

Therapeutic Cancer Vaccine (AST-301, pNGVL3-hICD) in Patients With Breast Cancer
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of an adjuvant treatment of therapeutic cancer vaccine (AST-301, pNGVL3-hICD) in patients with HER2-low expression (IHC 1+ or 2+ and ISH-) and hormone receptor-negative(ER-, PR-) breast cancer with residual disease after neoadjuvant treatment. Patients will be randomized 1:1 to either the Experimental arm (combination of AST-301/rhuGM CSF and standard adjuvant therapy) or the Control arm (combination of placebo/rhuGM CSF and stand... Myofascial Massage for Pain and Immobility Following Breast Cancer Surgery
Recruiting
About 25-50% of women who undergo breast cancer surgery develop persistent chest wall pain and shoulder mobility limitations following surgery. The pain and mobility limitations adversely affect quality of life, sleep, and body image. Unfortunately, current treatments for pain and mobility limitations have variable efficacy. Based on a review of relevant pre-, intra-, and post-operative factors, investigators reasoned that myofascial massage may address contributors to pain and mobility limitati... Read More

Endocrine Therapy Fulvestrant & Palbociclib or Aromatase Inhibitor Therapy in Treating Older Patients With Hormone Responsive Breast Cancer That Cannot Be Removed by Surgery
Recruiting
This phase II clinical trial studies how well fulvestrant and palbociclib works in treating older patients with breast cancer that responds to hormone treatment (hormone responsive) that cannot be removed by surgery. Estrogen can cause the growth of estrogen-receptor-positive breast cancer cells. Hormone therapy using fulvestrant may fight estrogen-receptor-positive breast cancer by blocking the use of estrogen by the tumor cells. Palbociclib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some o... Read More

Intraoperative Electron Beam Radiotherapy Boost in Treating Patients With Stage I-II Breast Cancer Undergoing Surgery With Reconstruction
Recruiting
This phase II trial studies the side effects of intraoperative electron beam radiotherapy boost and to see how well it works in treating patients with stage I-II breast cancer undergoing surgery with reconstruction. Giving a single dose of electron beam radiation to the tumor cavity during the breast surgery before reconstruction may be a better way to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors.

Topical or Oral Minoxidil for the Treatment of Endocrine Therapy-Induced Alopecia in Patients With Stage I-IV Breast Cancer
Recruiting
This early phase I trial studies the possible benefits and/or side effects of topical or oral minoxidil in treating endocrine therapy-induced hair loss (alopecia) in patients with stage I-IV breast cancer. Endocrine therapy-induced alopecia (EIA) is a distressing side effect that leads to reduced quality of life and early cessation of therapy in women undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Patients on endocrine therapy commonly report hair loss or thinning. Minoxidil is a drug that may promote... Read More

Nilotinib in Preventing Paclitaxel-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy in Patients With Stage I-III Breast Cancer
Recruiting
This phase Ib/II trial studies the side effects and best dose of nilotinib in preventing paclitaxel-induced peripheral neuropathy in stage I-III breast cancer patients who are receiving paclitaxel therapy. Chemotherapy is the usual or ?standard? treatment for breast cancer. It kills cancer cells and lowers the chance that the cancer will come back. Sometimes, this treatment can cause numbness and tingling, especially in the hands and feet. This is called chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropath... Read More
