Breast Cancer Paid Clinical Trials in Pennsylvania

Patients with known or suspected primary or metastatic breast cancer with one lesion that is 1.5 cm in diameter or greater may be eligible for this study. Patients may participate in this study if they are at least 18 years of age. Up to 40 evaluable subjects will participate in a single imaging cohort. Patients will be stratified for analysis by breast cancer subtype with prioritization to recruit at least 10 estrogen-receptor-expressing (ER+) and 10 triple-negative breast cancers (TNBC). This is an observational study; \[18F\]F-GLN PET/CT will not be used to direct treatment decisions. While patients and referring physicians will not be blinded to the \[18F\]F-GLN PET/CT results, treatment decisions are made by the treating physicians based upon clinical criteria. \[18F\]F-GLN PET/CT imaging sessions will include an injection of \[18F\]F-GLN. Metabolism data will be collected. Pilot data will be collected to evaluate image quality and collect preliminary information on the uptake of \[18F\]F-GLN in breast cancer. The goal of this study is to develop a comprehensive characterization of genetic and molecular drivers of breast and prostate cancer in individuals of African ancestry. The study is conducted by the African Caribbean Cancer Consortium (AC3) and involves the recruitment of patients from nine international AC3 research sites in the Bahamas, Barbados, Benin, Burkina Faso, Haiti, Jamaica, Kenya, Namibia, and Trinidad and Tobago, and the US. The main questions are to: molecularly characterize genomic changes in the African Cancer genomes of the breast and prostate and identify the effects of social determinants of health and lifestyle factors on mutational landscape. Black individuals that have been diagnosed with pathologically confirmed prostate or breast cancer will be included. Detailed social determinants of health survey, blood and archived FFPE tissues will be collected. (Tier 1) All patient tissues will be subject to IHC for receptor status (ER, AR, PR Her2/neu). All patients with available germline DNA from blood will receive genetic screening using a Commercial gene panel testing. This clinical trial studies eliminating surgery and how well radiation therapy after systemic therapy works in treating patients with HER2 positive or triple negative breast cancer when image-guided biopsy shows no residual cancer. Patients then receive standard breast radiotherapy. Read Less

The goal of this clinical trial is to explore feasibility, acceptability, and effectiveness of end-of-life conversation game "Hello" as a tool to help individuals with various solid cancer types (including: breast, gastro-intestinal, lung, melanoma, head and neck, and/or genito-urinary cancers) treated at Penn State Health clinics and their loved ones perform advance care planning (ACP). The main questions it aims to answer are: What modifications and/or adaptations are necessary to Hello for use in cancer populations? What impact does participation in Hello event have on health care usage (e.g., number of hospitalizations, ICU admissions, emergency department visits, etc.)? How feasible is it to randomize participants to play either Hello for Cancer or Table Topics? The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability, MTD and RP2D of LP-184 in patients with advanced solid tumors who have relapsed from or are refractory to standard therapy or for whom no standard therapy is available. Patient will be treated with neratinib, an aromatase inhibitor and trastuzumab for 24 weeks prior to surgery, following an initial 3 weeks of neratinib alone, aromatase inhibitor alone or the combination of neratinib and an aromatase inhibitor. A breast biopsy will be performed prior to Day 1 of week 4 of treatment.
