An Interactive Time-Restricted Diet Intervention (txt4fasting) for Reducing Neurocognitive Decline and Improving Survival in Patients With Brain Metastases From Breast or Lung Cancer
Recruiting
This clinical trial tests the effectiveness of an interactive time-restricted diet intervention (txt4fasting) in reducing neurocognitive decline and improving survival outcomes after stereotactic radiosurgery in patients with breast or lung cancer that has spread to the brain (brain metastases). Lung cancer and breast cancer are the two most frequent causes of brain metastases. The diagnosis of brain metastases is associated with poorer survival and tumor-induced and treatment-related side effec... Read More

Prediction of Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy Response Using Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound in Patients With Locally Advanced Breast Cancer
Recruiting
This phase II/III trial studies if contrast-enhanced ultrasounds using a contrast dye, perflutren lipid microspheres (Definity), can predict the response to chemotherapy by estimating the pressure in the cancer in patients with breast cancer that has spread to nearby tissues and lymph nodes (locally advanced). The efficacy of cancer therapy is affected by the pressure in the cancer. Definity is a contrast dye used to create better images during ultrasounds. The purpose of this trial is to determ... MBC Physical Activity Study
Recruiting
This clinical trial evaluates the impact of a tailored physical activity program on physical activity in patients with breast cancer that has spread from where it first started to other places in the body (metastatic). It has been shown that decreased physical activity contributes to poor performance and quality of life. Evidence has also shown that exercise could improve physical fitness, physical functioning, quality of life, and cancer-related fatigue, however, there is concern that it may no... Read More

Long-term Safety of Nipple Sparing Mastectomy in Women With GPV in Breast Cancer
Recruiting
Patients with a germline pathogenic variant (GPV) in high-penetrance breast cancer susceptibility genes who are considering risk reducing mastectomy (RRM) often strongly desire to keep their nipple areola complex but inquire as to whether it is safe to do so. Relative to traditional or skin sparing mastectomy (SSM) techniques, nipple sparing mastectomy (NSM) is associated with improved psychosocial and sexual well-being and is significantly better for body image and reducing feelings of disfigur... S1703 Serum Tumor Marker Directed Disease Monitoring in Patients With Hormone Receptor Positive Her2 Negative Metastatic Breast Cancer
Recruiting
This randomized research trial studies how well serum tumor marker directed disease monitoring works in monitoring patients with hormone receptor positive Her2 negative breast cancer that has spread to other places in the body. Using markers to prompt when scans should be ordered may be as good as the usual approach to monitoring disease.
