Cisplatin Treatment Options in Minnesota

This is an open-label, international, two-arm, parallel, randomized, Phase 3 study evaluating the efficacy and safety of S-1/cisplatin versus 5-FU/cisplatin in patients with advanced gastric cancer previously untreated with chemotherapy for advanced disease. Patients will be randomly assigned (1:1) to S-1/cisplatin (experimental arm) or 5-FU/cisplatin (control arm). This pilot clinical trial studies busulfan, melphalan, and stem cell transplant after chemotherapy in treating patients with newly diagnosed neuroblastoma that is likely to come back or spread. Giving chemotherapy to the entire body before a stem cell transplant stops the growth of tumor cells by stopping them from dividing or killing them. After treatment, stem cells are collected from the patient's blood and stored. More chemotherapy or radiation therapy is given to prepare the bone marrow for the stem cell transplant. This randomized phase III trial studies how well cisplatin or carboplatin (platinum based chemotherapy) works compared to capecitabine in treating patients with remaining (residual) basal-like triple-negative breast cancer following chemotherapy after surgery (neoadjuvant). Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, carboplatin and capecitabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. This is a first-in-human study evaluating the anti-T cell immunoglobulin and mucin containing protein-3 (TIM-3) antibody TSR-022. The study will be conducted in 2 parts with Part 1 consisting of dose escalation and Part 2 dose expansion. This is a Phase Ib/II, open-label, multi-center, competitive enrollment and dose-escalation study of ALT-801 in a biochemotherapy regimen either containing cisplatin and gemcitabine or containing gemcitabine alone in patients who have muscle invasive or metastatic urothelial cancer of bladder, renal pelvis, ureters and urethra. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety, determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) and the recommended dose (RD), and assess the anti-tumor response of ALT-801 in combination with cisplatin and gemcitabine or ALT-801 in combination with gemcitabine alone. The pharmacokinetic profile of ALT-801 in combination with cisplatin and gemcitabine will also be assessed. The study includes a dose escalation phase (Phase Ib) and a dose expansion phase (Phase II). Phase II has two treatment groups, Expansion Group 1 and Expansion Group 2. Expansion Group 2 is for platinum-refractory patients, consisting of two treatment arms based on the patient's renal function. This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of gemcitabine and cisplatin when given together with ivosidenib or pemigatinib in treating patients with cholangiocarcinoma that cannot be removed with surgery (unresectable) or has spread to other places in the body (metastatic). Chemotherapy drugs, such as gemcitabine and cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Ivosidenib and pemigatinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving gemcitabine and cisplatin with ivosidenib or pemigatinib may work better in treating patients with cholangiocarcinoma compared to gemcitabine and cisplatin alone. Read Less

This phase III trial studies the side effects of combination chemotherapy, 3-dimensional conformal radiation therapy, and an autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplant, and to see how well they work in treating young patients with atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumor of the central nervous system. Giving high-dose chemotherapy before an autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplant stops the growth of cancer cells by stopping them from dividing or killing them. Giving colony-stimulating factors, such as G-CSF, helps stem cells move from the bone marrow to the blood so they can be collected and stored. Chemotherapy or radiation therapy is then given to prepare the bone marrow for the stem cell transplant. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) may kill more tumor cells. Giving chemotherapy before surgery may make the tumor smaller and reduce the amount of normal tissue that needs to be removed.
