This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of ADH-1 when given together with gemcitabine hydrochloride and cisplatin in treating patients with pancreatic or biliary tract cancer that has spread from where it started to nearby tissue or lymph nodes (locally advanced) or spread to other parts of the body (metastatic) and cannot be removed by surgery. ADH-1 may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine hydrochloride and cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. This randomized phase III trial studies chemoembolization and sorafenib tosylate to see how well they work compared with chemoembolization alone in treating patients with liver cancer that cannot be removed by surgery. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as doxorubicin hydrochloride, mitomycin, and cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Chemoembolization kills tumor cells by carrying drugs directly into blood vessels near the tumor and then blocking the blood flow to allow a higher concentration of the drug to reach the tumor for a longer period of time. Kinase inhibitors, such as sorafenib tosylate may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking the action of an abnormal protein that signals cancer cells to multiply. This is a randomized, Phase III, multicenter, open-label study designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of atezolizumab in combination with cisplatin or carboplatin + pemetrexed compared with treatment with cisplatin or carboplatin + pemetrexed in participants who are chemotherapy-naive and have Stage IV non-squamous NSCLC. Eligible participants will be randomized by a 1:1 ratio into 2 groups: Arm A (Atezolizumab + Carboplatin or Cisplatin + Pemetrexed) and Arm B (Carboplatin or Cisplatin + Pemetrexed). The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects, good and/or bad, of treating participants with HPV-mediated oropharyngeal cancer, with less treatment, using the new staging system. The investigators believe this treatment will provide the same effectiveness as the usual treatment, but decrease the side effects. The radiation doses, chemotherapy doses, and the type of surgical approaches that will be used in this treatment protocol have all been previously investigated. Giving radiation therapy in different ways and combining it with chemotherapy before surgery may kill more tumor cells. It is not yet known which radiation therapy regimen combined with chemotherapy with or without surgery is more effective for head and neck cancer. It may also make tumor cells more sensitive to radiation therapy. Giving cetuximab together with chemotherapy and radiation therapy may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving cetuximab together with cisplatin, fluorouracil, and radiation therapy works in treating immunocompetent patients with stage I (closed to accrual as of 11/3/2008), stage II, (some stage II closed to accrual as of 11/3/2008) or stage III anal cancer.
