Cisplatin Treatment Options in New Jersey

This randomized phase II trial studies how well cisplatin works with or without veliparib in treating patients with triple-negative breast cancer and/or BRCA mutation-associated breast cancer that has come back (recurrent) or has or has not spread to the brain (brain metastases). Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. PARPs are proteins that help repair DNA mutations. PARP inhibitors, such as veliparib, can keep PARP from working, so tumor cells can't repair themselves, and they may stop growing. It is not yet known if cisplatin is more effective with or without veliparib in treating patients with triple-negative and/or BRCA mutation-associated breast cancer. Read Less

The purpose of the study is to explore adding the study drug certolizumab to standard chemotherapy as it may reduce the inflammation caused by the cancer and make the chemotherapy more effective in shrinking the cancer. This study will examine whether adding certolizumab to the usual treatment approach is better than, the same as, or worse than the usual approach alone. Read Less

This study is being done to test a new treatment plan for large tumors in the sinus or nasal cavity that will include endoscopic surgery plus chemotherapy and proton-beam radiation therapy. Read Less

This is a phase 2 study of gemcitabine, cisplatin, zimberelimab (AB122) and quemliclustat (AB680) in subjects with untreated advanced biliary tract cancers (BTC). The study will include a safety run-in involving 6 study participants. The goal of the safety run-in is to screen for early safety signals of the proposed drug combination. Trial enrollment can continue while full safety assessment is being completed for the first 6 subjects. Participants will receive 4 cycles of combination therapy as described. After 4 cycles (\~6 months), cisplatin will be discontinued, while gemcitabine, zimberelimab (AB122), and quemliclustat (AB680) will be continued. This study will test an experimental drug (enfortumab vedotin) alone and with different combinations of anticancer therapies. Pembrolizumab is an immune checkpoint inhibitor (CPI) that is used to treat patients with cancer of the urinary system (urothelial cancer). This type of cancer includes cancer of the bladder, renal pelvis, ureter or urethra. Some parts of the study will look at locally advanced or metastatic urothelial cancer (la/mUC), which means the cancer has spread to nearby tissues or to other areas of the body. Other parts of the study will look at muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC), which is cancer at an earlier stage that has spread into the muscle wall of the bladder. This study will look at the side effects of enfortumab vedotin alone and with other anticancer therapies. A side effect is a response to a drug that is not part of the treatment effect. The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy and safety of pembrolizumab (MK-3475) plus one of four platinum-based chemotherapy regimens compared to the efficacy and safety of placebo plus one of four platinum-based chemotherapy regimens in the treatment of adult women with persistent, recurrent, or metastatic cervical cancer. Possible chemotherapy regimens include: paclitaxel plus cisplatin with or without bevacizumab and paclitaxel plus carboplatin with or without bevacizumab. The primary study hypotheses are that the combination of pembrolizumab plus chemotherapy is superior to placebo plus chemotherapy with respect to: 1) Progression-free Survival (PFS) per Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST 1.1) as assessed by the Investigator, or, 2) Overall Survival (OS). The purpose of this randomized study is to determine the safety and efficacy of quaratusugene ozeplasmid (Reqorsa) added to osimertinib in NSCLC patients with activating EGFR mutations who have progressed while on treatment with osimertinib. Quaratusugene ozeplasmid consists of non-viral lipid nanoparticles that encapsulate a DNA plasmid with the TUSC2 tumor suppressor gene and is the first systemic gene therapy for cancer. The study is comprised of a Phase 1 dose escalation portion and two Phase 2 portions evaluating safety and efficacy. Enrollment in the Phase 1 dose escalation portion is complete and the recommended Phase 2 dose (RP2D) was determined. Phase 2a has initiated and enrolled patients are treated with quaratusugene ozeplasmid at the RP2D in combination with osimertinib. This randomized phase II trial studies how well temozolomide and capecitabine work compared to standard treatment with cisplatin or carboplatin and etoposide in treating patients with neuroendocrine carcinoma of the gastrointestinal tract or pancreas that has spread to other parts of the body (metastatic) or cannot be removed by surgery. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as temozolomide, capecitabine, cisplatin, carboplatin and etoposide, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Certain types of neuroendocrine carcinomas may respond better to treatments other than the current standard treatment of cisplatin and etoposide. It is not yet known whether temozolomide and capecitabine may work better than cisplatin or carboplatin and etoposide in treating patients with this type of neuroendocrine carcinoma, called non-small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma.
