This phase I clinical trial studies the side effects and best dose of veliparib when given together with paclitaxel and cisplatin and to see how well they work in treating patients with cervical cancer that has spread to other places in the body and usually cannot be cured or controlled with treatment or that has come back. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel and cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Veliparib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) and giving chemotherapy together with veliparib may kill more tumor cells. Read Less

RATIONALE: Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. This clinical trial is studying how well granisetron, aprepitant, and dexamethasone work in preventing nausea and vomiting in patients receiving chemotherapy for stage II, stage III, or stage IV ovarian cancer. Part A- The purpose of this study is to determine a safe dose of LY2801653 to be given to participants with advanced cancer and to determine any side effects that may be associated with LY2801653 in this participant population. The standard treatment of muscle invasive bladder cancer is to administer chemotherapy for approximately 3 months then to have surgery to remove the bladder. Chemotherapy may reduce the size of the cancer in your bladder before surgery and can also help to reduce the chance that your bladder cancer will come back (metastasize) in other parts of your body after bladder surgery.
