This randomized phase III trial studies gemcitabine hydrochloride, cisplatin, and bevacizumab to see how well they work compared with gemcitabine hydrochloride and cisplatin in treating patients with urinary tract cancer that has spread to other places in the body. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine hydrochloride and cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Immunotherapy with bevacizumab, may induce changes in body's immune system and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. It is not yet known whether gemcitabine hydrochloride and cisplatin are more effective when given with or without bevacizumab in treating patients with urinary tract cancer. Read Less

This is a study of ADI-PEG 20 (pegylated arginine deiminase), an arginine degrading enzyme versus placebo in patients with malignant pleural mesothelioma. Malignant pleural mesothelioma have been found to require arginine, an amino acid. Thus the hypothesis is that by restricting arginine with ADI-PEG 20, the malignant pleural mesothelioma cells will starve and die. Read Less

This study will assess the safety and effectiveness of fimaporfin-induced photochemical internalisation (PCI) of gemcitabine complemented by systemic gemcitabine/cisplatin chemotherapy compared to gemcitabine/cisplatin alone, in patients with inoperable cholangiocarcinoma (CCA). This phase II trial studies the effect of bintrafusp alfa with pemetrexed and platinum-based chemotherapy (carboplatin or cisplatin) in treating patients with EGFR mutant non-small cell lung cancer that have spread to nearby tissue or lymph nodes (locally advanced) or other places in the body (metastatic) and cannot be removed by surgery, and remains despite treatment with tyrosine kinase inhibitors (Resistant). Immunotherapy with bintrafusp alfa, a bifunctional fusion protein composed of the monoclonal antibody anti-PD-L1 and TGF-beta, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Pemetrexed may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Chemotherapy drugs, such as carboplatin and cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving radiation therapy in different ways and combining it with chemotherapy before surgery may kill more tumor cells. Interleukin-2 may stimulate a person's white blood cells to kill melanoma cells. Interferon alfa may interfere with the growth of tumor cells. This phase II trial studies the side effects of LET-IMPT and standard chemotherapy, and how well they work in treating patients with newly diagnosed stage I-III anal canal squamous cell cancer. LET-IMPT is a type of radiation therapy that uses high energy proton "beamlets" to "paint" the radiation dose into the target and may help to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors.
