The primary objective of this study is to compare the effect of farletuzumab versus placebo in combination with either a platinum agent (carboplatin) with paclitaxel or a platinum agent (carboplatin or cisplatin) with pemetrexed followed by farletuzumab or placebo on investigator-assessed progression free survival (PFS) as determined by Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) v.1.1 or definitive clinical disease progression (eg, new occurrence of positive fluid cytology) in chemotherapy naive participants with folate receptoralpha (FRA)-expressing Stage IV adenocarcinoma of the lung. This phase II/III trial studies how well radiation therapy works when given together with cisplatin, docetaxel, cetuximab, and/or atezolizumab after surgery in treating patients with high-risk stage III-IV head and neck cancer the begins in the thin, flat cells (squamous cell). Specialized radiation therapy that delivers a high dose of radiation directly to the tumor may kill more tumor cells and cause less damage to normal tissue. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin and docetaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Cetuximab is a monoclonal antibody that may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as atezolizumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. The purpose of this study is to compare the usual treatment (radiation therapy with cisplatin chemotherapy) to using radiation therapy with docetaxel and cetuximab chemotherapy, and using the usual treatment plus an immunotherapy drug, atezolizumab. Combining chemotherapy with radiation therapy after surgery may kill any remaining tumor cells following surgery. It is not yet known which chemotherapy and radiation therapy regimen is more effective in treating stomach or esophageal cancer. This study was originally designed as a multicenter, double-blind, randomized, parallel-group study, using a placebo control or amatuximab 5 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg), administered weekly, designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of amatuximab in combination with pemetrexed and cisplatin in participants with unresectable Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma (MPM) who have not received prior systemic therapy. Per a business decision made by the Sponsor, participants who were randomized to amatuximab and were still on active treatment at the time of the protocol amendment may have consented to continue to receive weekly treatment with amatuximab until disease progression or intolerable toxicity at the discretion of the principal investigator. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a combination of a drug, porfimer sodium (Photofrin), which is activated by a light from a laser that emits no heat. This technique works to allow the medical doctor to specifically target and destroy abnormal or cancer cells while limiting damage to surrounding healthy tissue. The activation of the drug is done by lighting the abnormal areas using a fiber optic device (very fine fiber like a fishing line that permits light transmission) inserted into a flexible tube with a light called cholangioscope for the bile duct. The light will activate the porfimer sodium concentrated in the abnormal tissue, leading to its destruction. This research study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of PDT with porfimer sodium administered with Standard Medical Care (SMC) compared to SMC alone on the overall survival time of patients with non-operable advanced cholangiocarcinoma, a rare cancer of the bile ducts.
