Combination Chemotherapy With or Without Veliparib in Treating Patients With Stage IV Head and Neck Cancer
Completed
This partially randomized phase I/II trial studies the side effects and best dose of veliparib when given together with combination chemotherapy and to see how well they work in treating patients with stage IV head and neck cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as docetaxel, cisplatin, and fluorouracil, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Veliparib may stop the growth of tumo... Read More

Radiation Therapy and Cisplatin With or Without Cetuximab in Treating Patients With HPV Positive, KRAS-Variant Stage III-IV Oropharyngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma
Terminated
This phase II trial studies how well radiation therapy and cisplatin with or without cetuximab works in treating patients with human papillomavirus (HPV) positive, KRAS-variant stage III-IV oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma. Radiation therapy uses high energy x-rays to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from... Fludeoxyglucose F-18 PET/CT in Predicting Response to Chemotherapy in Patients With Stage IIIA Non-small Cell Lung Cancer That Can Be Removed by Surgery
Withdrawn
This phase II trial studies how well fludeoxyglucose F-18 (18F-FDG) positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) works in predicting response to chemotherapy in patients with stage IIIA non-small cell lung cancer that can be removed by surgery (resectable). Performing diagnostic procedures, such as fludeoxyglucose F-18 PET/CT, after one course of chemotherapy may help doctors predict a patient's response to treatment earlier and help plan the best treatment.

Comparing NUC-1031 Plus Cisplatin to Gemcitabine Plus Cisplatin in Patients With Advanced Biliary Tract Cancer
Terminated
NuTide:121 compares NUC-1031 with gemcitabine, both in combination with cisplatin, in patients with previously untreated advanced biliary tract cancer.
The primary hypotheses are:
* The combination of NUC-1031 plus cisplatin prolongs overall survival compared to the gemcitabine plus cisplatin standard of care
* The combination of NUC-1031 plus cisplatin increases overall response rate compared to the gemcitabine plus cisplatin standard of care

ADMIRAL Trial: Adaptive Mediastinal Radiation With Chemo-Immunotherapy
Terminated
This phase II trial studies two questions in patients with stage III NSCLC: 1) does it improve cancer control to add the drug Durvalumab, a type of immunotherapy, earlier in the treatment course; and 2) by intensifying treatment with durvalumab, is it possible to avoid mediastinal radiation to decrease side effects, without decreasing cancer control?

Combination Chemotherapy, PEG-Interferon Alfa-2b, and Surgery in Treating Patients With Osteosarcoma
Completed
This randomized phase III trial is studying combination chemotherapy followed by surgery and two different combination chemotherapy regimens with or without PEG-interferon alfa-2b to compare how well they work in treating patients with osteosarcoma. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) may kill more tumor cells. Biological therapies,... Read More

Buparlisib, Gemcitabine Hydrochloride, and Cisplatin in Treating Patients With Advanced Solid Tumors
Withdrawn
This phase I trial studies the side effects and the best doses of buparlisib, gemcitabine hydrochloride, and cisplatin in treating patients with solid tumors that have spread to other places in the body. Buparlisib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine hydrochloride and cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividi... Study of Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemoperfusion (HIPEC) in Patients With Gastric Adenocarcinoma and Carcinomatosis or Positive Cytology
Completed
The goal of this clinical research study is to find the highest tolerable dose of paclitaxel that can be given as hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) to patients with gastric or gastroesophageal cancer. HIPEC is a system in which heated chemotherapy is delivered directly inside the abdomen during surgery. In this study, paclitaxel is being combined with mitomycin and cisplatin to see if this study drug combination can help to control the disease.
