The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy and duration of bupivacaine extended-release liposome injection (Exparel) versus bupivacaine with dexamethasone in transversus abdominis plane (TAP) blocks for patients undergoing abdominal surgery at Emory University Hospital and Emory University Hospital Midtown. The investigators hypothesize that Exparel will provide greater postoperative pain relief than bupivacaine with dexamethasone. In this study, patients will receive ondansetron 8mg and dexamethasone 10mg intravenously 30 minutes prior to myeloablative preparative chemotherapy until the last day of chemotherapy. On the final day of chemotherapy, palonosetron 0.25mg and dexamethasone 10mg will be administered intravenously 30 minutes prior to the chemotherapy. If the chemotherapy regimen is only 1 day of the chemotherapy then only palonosetron and dexamethasone will be administered 30 minutes prior to chemotherapy. This randomized phase III trial is studying different chemotherapy regimens given with or without radiation therapy to compare how well they work in treating children with newly diagnosed Hodgkin's disease. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Giving the drugs in different combinations may kill more cancer cells. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage cancer cells. Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) occurs in some people after exposure to events that cause extreme fear or helplessness. The incidence of war zones worldwide and the prevalence of violence in large cities in the U.S., increases the likelihood that people will experience a traumatizing event in their lifetime. About 1 in 10 people who survive such events will develop PTSD, while most people will get better over time. This suggests that some people may have biological vulnerabilities that make it harder for them to recover. One of these biological risk factors may be related to how stress hormones work in people who get sick. Another is how people react to things that make them afraid or nervous, investigators have found that PTSD patients have higher than normal fear reactions. The part of the brain that reacts to fearful stimulation is linked to stress hormones; the purpose of this study is to examine how these systems interact. The study will suppress stress hormones (cortisol) production in one group of participants, while another will get a placebo. When their cortisol is suppressed, the participants will undergo a startle study to see if their fear responses are decreased. Investigators expect that people PTSD will show a normal fear response when their cortisol levels are reduced, similar to people without PTSD. The purpose of this study is to determine if Thalidomide + Dexamethasone or DOXIL (doxorubicin HCl liposome injection) + Thalidomide + Dexamethasone is more effective in treating newly diagnosed patients with multiple myeloma.
