This phase II clinical trial studies the addition of selinexor to lenalidomide in patients with multiple myeloma following transplant. Selinexor is an oral medication approved for use in patients with multiple myeloma following failure of other regimens, and lenalidomide is an oral medication approved for use in patients with multiple myeloma following transplant. This study is testing if the combination of selinexor and lenalidomide is more effective than lenalidomide alone in this setting. Read Less

This phase III trial compares the effect of adding a stem cell transplant with melphalan after completing chemotherapy with daratumumab, cyclophosphamide, bortezomib and dexamethasone (Dara-VCD) versus chemotherapy with Dara-VCD alone for treating patients with newly diagnosed amyloid light chain (AL) amyloidosis. Melphalan is a chemotherapy given prior to a stem cell transplant. Giving chemotherapy before a peripheral blood stem cell transplant helps kill cancer cells in the body and helps make room in the patient's bone marrow for new blood-forming cells (stem cells) to grow. The stem cells are then returned to the patients to replace the blood forming cells that were destroyed by the chemotherapy. Daratumumab is in a class of medications called monoclonal antibodies. It binds to a protein called CD38, which is found on some types of immune cells and cancer cells, including myeloma cells. Daratumumab may block CD38 and help the immune system kill cancer cells. Chemotherapy drugs, such as cyclophosphamide and bortezomib, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Dexamethasone is in a class of medications called corticosteroids. It is used to lower the body's immune response to help stop the growth of cancer cells. This phase III trial studies combination chemotherapy with or without lestaurtinib with to see how well they work in treating younger patients with newly diagnosed acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of stop cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Lestaurtinib may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. It is not yet known whether combination chemotherapy is more effective with or without lestaurtinib in treating acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Read Less

Trigger finger is a common cause of hand pain and dysfunction. Its due to chronic inflammation of the flexor tendon that leads to a pulley system mismatch. Historically it has been managed either conservatively with corticosteroid injections or through a surgical release of the A1 pulley. Several corticosteroids have been used for injection- dexamethasone, methylprednisolone, triamcinolone, betamethasone, paramethasone, etc. The purpose of out study is to determine if a 0.5 cc injection of Triamcinolone 40 mg/mL will be the most effective steroid injection for the non-surgical treatment. Approximately 200 subjects will be enrolled and randomized to one of three treatment arms: Triamcinolone 40mg/mL, Triamcinolone 10mg/mL and Soluble dexamethasone 4mg/mL. This partially randomized phase II trial studies how well brentuximab vedotin or crizotinib and combination chemotherapy works in treating patients with newly diagnosed stage II-IV anaplastic large cell lymphoma. Brentuximab vedotin is a monoclonal antibody, called brentuximab, linked to a toxic agent called vedotin. Brentuximab attaches to CD30 positive cancer cells in targeted way and delivers vedotin to kill them. Crizotinib and methotrexate may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. It is not yet known whether brentuximab vedotin and combination chemotherapy is more effective than crizotinib and combination chemotherapy in treating anaplastic large cell lymphoma. Read Less
