Dexamethasone Treatment Options in Missouri

Trigger finger is a common cause of hand pain and dysfunction. Its due to chronic inflammation of the flexor tendon that leads to a pulley system mismatch. Historically it has been managed either conservatively with corticosteroid injections or through a surgical release of the A1 pulley. Several corticosteroids have been used for injection- dexamethasone, methylprednisolone, triamcinolone, betamethasone, paramethasone, etc. The purpose of out study is to determine if a 0.5 cc injection of Triamcinolone 40 mg/mL will be the most effective steroid injection for the non-surgical treatment. Approximately 200 subjects will be enrolled and randomized to one of three treatment arms: Triamcinolone 40mg/mL, Triamcinolone 10mg/mL and Soluble dexamethasone 4mg/mL. This phase II trial studies how well carfilzomib, lenalidomide, and dexamethasone before and after stem cell transplant works in treating patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma. Carfilzomib may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Biological therapies, such as lenalidomide, may stimulate the immune system in different ways and stop cancer cells from growing. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as dexamethasone, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from diving. This phase III trial compares three-drug induction regimens followed by double-or single-drug maintenance therapy for the treatment of newly diagnosed multiple myeloma in patients who are not receiving a stem cell transplant and are considered frail or intermediate-fit based on age, comorbidities, and functional status. Treatment for multiple myeloma includes initial treatment (induction) which is the first treatment a patient receives for cancer followed by ongoing treatment (maintenance) which is given after initial treatment to help keep the cancer from coming back. There are three combinations of four different drugs being studied. Bortezomib is one of the drugs that may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Lenalidomide works by helping bone marrow to produce normal blood cells and killing cancer cells. Anti-inflammatory drugs, such as dexamethasone, lower the body's immune response and are used with other drugs in the treatment of some types of cancer. Daratumumab and hyaluronidase-fihj is a monoclonal antibody that may interfere with the ability of cancer cells to grow and spread. Patients receive 1 of 3 combinations of these drugs for treatment to determine which combination of study drugs works better to shrink and control multiple myeloma. Read Less

This partially randomized phase II trial studies how well brentuximab vedotin or crizotinib and combination chemotherapy works in treating patients with newly diagnosed stage II-IV anaplastic large cell lymphoma. Brentuximab vedotin is a monoclonal antibody, called brentuximab, linked to a toxic agent called vedotin. Brentuximab attaches to CD30 positive cancer cells in targeted way and delivers vedotin to kill them. Crizotinib and methotrexate may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. It is not yet known whether brentuximab vedotin and combination chemotherapy is more effective than crizotinib and combination chemotherapy in treating anaplastic large cell lymphoma. Read Less

This randomized phase III trial is studying low-dose vincristine to see how well it works compared with high-dose vincristine when given together with different combination chemotherapy regimens in treating young patients with intermediate-risk relapsed B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. This is a phase Ib study to assess the safety, tolerability, preliminary efficacy, and renal response of isatuximab, bortezomib, and dexamethasone in newly diagnosed multiple myeloma patients with severe renal impairment or dialysis-dependent end-stage renal disease. Such patients have limited therapeutic options due to renal clearance or nephrotoxicity of many myeloma therapies and are often excluded from clinical trials. Isatuximab in other regimens has shown efficacy and tolerability in patients with moderate renal impairment, although data are lacking for regimens containing CD38-targeting immunotherapies in severe renal impairment/ESRD.
