Exparel vs Block for ACL Reconstruction
Enrolling By Invitation
Liposomal bupivacaine or Exparel (Pacira Biosciences) is a long-lasting nonopioid analgesic that was initially utilized as an infiltrative agent but has more recently become U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved for use in interscalene brachial plexus nerve blockade as well as infiltrative blockade. Delivery in this form is reported to provide up to 72 hours of extended-release bupivacaine. Exparel's use as a regional anesthetic has also become increasingly common and has shown promis... Liposomal Bupivacaine With Dexamethasone for Foot Surgery
Enrolling By Invitation
This study aims to understand the ideal formulation to utilize in saphenous nerve and popliteal nerve blocks for foot and ankle procedures. It will examine the use of liposomal bupivacaine alone or liposomal bupivacaine with dexamethasone prior to foot and ankle procedures in peripheral nerve blocks. We will compare liposomal bupivacaine (Exparel) and liposomal bupivacaine (Exparel) combined with dexamethasone to determine if the addition of dexamethasone significantly decreases postoperative na... Perioperative Glucocorticoid Administration in the Treatment of Adult Distal Radius Fractures
Recruiting
The purpose of this investigation is to compare functional outcome measures and range of motion for patients receiving glucocorticoid (GC) injections versus those not receiving GCs for the treatment of distal radius fractures. The investigators hypothesize that patients who receive GC will have improved ROM and functional outcome measures compared to patients who do not receive GC. In addition, this study aims to determine if there is a difference in rates of complications and postoperative pain... Read More

Brentuximab Vedotin or Crizotinib and Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Patients With Newly Diagnosed Stage II-IV Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma
Completed
This partially randomized phase II trial studies how well brentuximab vedotin or crizotinib and combination chemotherapy works in treating patients with newly diagnosed stage II-IV anaplastic large cell lymphoma. Brentuximab vedotin is a monoclonal antibody, called brentuximab, linked to a toxic agent called vedotin. Brentuximab attaches to CD30 positive cancer cells in targeted way and delivers vedotin to kill them. Crizotinib and methotrexate may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking som... Read More

I-SPY COVID-19 TRIAL: An Adaptive Platform Trial for Critically Ill Patients
Recruiting
The goal of this project is to rapidly screen promising agents, in the setting of an adaptive platform trial, for treatment of critically ill COVID-19 patients. In this phase 2 platform design, agents will be identified with a signal suggesting a big impact on reducing mortality and the need for, as well as duration, of mechanical ventilation.

Liposomal Bupivacaine in Shoulder Arthroscopy
Withdrawn
Background:
The research study is being conducted to see if using the liposomal Bupivacaine for the Interscalene block will improve the patient pain control and the whole patient's experience 48 hours after surgery when compared to using the regular Marcaine (bupivacaine hydrochloride) in addition to the dexamethasone.
All preoperative, surgical, post-operative care in the recovery room, and discharge instructions will be the same as any other patient undergoing this surgery.

Low-Dose or High-Dose Vincristine and Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Young Patients With Relapsed B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
Completed
This randomized phase III trial is studying low-dose vincristine to see how well it works compared with high-dose vincristine when given together with different combination chemotherapy regimens in treating young patients with intermediate-risk relapsed B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) and giv... Read More
