A Comparison of Ropivacaine Alone Versus Combination of Dexamethasone and Clonidine for Block

The aim of this randomized, observer-blinded study is to evaluate the postoperative analgesic efficacy of adding dexamethasone and clonidine to ropivacaine in supraclavicular nerve block. The investigators hypothesized that addition of dexamethasone and clonidine to ropivacaine would prolong the duration of analgesia in supraclavicular nerve block compared with ropivacaine alone.

The purpose of this study is to determine the safety, tolerability, maximum tolerated dose (MTD), and recommended phase 2 dose (RP2D) in phase 1 and to determine the combined response rate of clinical response CR and very good partial response (VGPR) in phase 2 of oral (PO) ixazomib administered twice-weekly in combination with lenalidomide and low-dose dexamethasone in a 21-day cycle in participants with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDDM).

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage cancer cells. Giving combination chemotherapy together with radiation therapy may kill more cancer cells.
