Paclitaxel Treatment Options in Arizona

The primary objective is to compare pembrolizumab plus paclitaxel with or without bevacizumab to placebo plus paclitaxel with or without bevacizumab, with respect to progression-free survival (PFS) per Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) 1.1 as assessed by the investigator. The hypotheses are that pembrolizumab plus paclitaxel with or without bevacizumab is superior to placebo plus paclitaxel with or without bevacizumab, with respect to PFS per RECIST 1.1 as assessed by the investigator for participants with programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) positive tumors (Combined Positive Score \[CPS\] ≥1) and that pembrolizumab plus paclitaxel with or without bevacizumab is superior to placebo plus paclitaxel with or without bevacizumab, with respect to PFS per RECIST 1.1 as assessed by the investigator for all participants. The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy and safety of pembrolizumab (MK-3475) versus placebo in combination with neoadjuvant (pre-surgery) chemotherapy and adjuvant (post-surgery) endocrine therapy in the treatment of adults who have high-risk early-stage estrogen receptor-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative (ER+/HER2-) breast cancer. The primary study hypotheses are: 1) pembrolizumab is superior to placebo, both in combination with the protocol-specified neoadjuvant anticancer therapy, as assessed by pathological Complete Response (pCR) rate defined by the local pathologist, and 2) pembrolizumab is superior to placebo (both in combination with the protocol-specified neoadjuvant and adjuvant anticancer therapies) as assessed by Event-Free Survival (EFS) as determined by the investigator. This phase II/III trial studies the usefulness of treatment with nivolumab and ipilimumab in addition to standard of care chemotherapy and radiation therapy in patients with esophageal and gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma who are undergoing surgery. Immunotherapy with antibodies, such as nivolumab and ipilimumab, may remove the brake on the body's immune system and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Chemotherapy and radiation therapy may reduce the tumor size and the amount of normal tissue that needs to be removed during surgery.
