This is a phase 2, randomized, placebo controlled, multi-center study to estimate the treatment effect and evaluate the safety and tolerability of AMG 386 in combination with paclitaxel and paclitaxel/bevacizumab in the treatment of subjects with Her2-negative metastatic or locally recurrent breast cancer. AMG 386 is a man-made medication that is designed to stop the development of blood vessels in cancer tissues. This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of TLR8 agonist VTX-2337 and pegylated liposomal doxorubicin hydrochloride in treating patients with recurrent or persistent ovarian epithelial, fallopian tube, or peritoneal cavity cancer. Biological therapies, such as TLR8 agonist VTX-2337, may stimulate the immune system in different ways and stop tumor cells from growing. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as pegylated liposomal doxorubicin hydrochloride and paclitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing.
