Neoadjuvant ABI-007, Carboplatin and Gemcitabine in Locally Advanced Bladder Cancer
Completed
Study participants will have been diagnosed with bladder cancer that has invaded the muscle wall of the bladder. Surgery is used to remove cancer when it is in the muscle of the bladder. Unfortunately, approximately 50% of people may have their cancer return in another location. For this reason, researchers are focusing on new chemotherapy regimens to be given before surgery (to remove the bladder) that may decrease the likelihood of cancer spreading. Paclitaxel, carboplatin and gemcitabine are... Read More

Carboplatin and Paclitaxel With or Without Sorafenib Tosylate in Treating Patients With Stage III or Stage IV Melanoma That Cannot Be Removed by Surgery
Completed
This randomized phase III trial studies carboplatin, paclitaxel, and sorafenib tosylate to see how well they work compared to carboplatin and paclitaxel in treating patients with stage III or stage IV melanoma that cannot be removed by surgery. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as carboplatin and paclitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Sorafenib tosylate may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some... Read More

Trial of Combination ABI-007, Carboplatin, and Gemcitabine for First Line Treatment of Advanced Urothelial Cancer
Terminated
This study will evaluate the safety and efficacy of the combination of ABI-007, carboplatin and gemcitabine in the treatment of patients with advanced bladder cancer. Study participants will have been diagnosed with advanced bladder cancer. Cisplatin based chemotherapy in this setting has activity but is not curative. Furthermore, patients with this disease have comorbidities that limit the use of cisplatin based therapy. Combination paclitaxel, carboplatin and gemcitabine is active and well to... Read More

TAXUS Libertē Post Approval Study
Completed
The TAXUS Libertē Post-Approval Study is an FDA-mandated prospective, multi-center study designed to collect real-world safety and clinical outcomes in approximately 4,200 patients receiving one or more TAXUS Liberté Paclitaxel-Eluting Stents and prasugrel as part of a dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) drug regimen. This study will also contribute patient data to an FDA-requested and industry-sponsored research study that will evaluate the optimal duration of dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT Stud... Read More

Estramustine, Etoposide and Paclitaxel Treatment for Hormonally Responsive Adenocarcinoma of the Prostate
Completed
Hormonal therapy is the standard treatment for prostate cancer which has spread to other areas of the body. Despite the high initial response rates to hormonal therapy, the vast majority of men will develop cancer which is no longer responsive to hormone deprivation. The average time for hormonal therapy to be effective is about 18 months. Chemotherapy combinations which can treat the disease when it no longer responds to hormonal therapy have been developed, but these treatments are not curativ... Read More
