Paclitaxel Treatment Options in Minnesota

This phase II trial studies how well FASN inhibitor TVB-2640, paclitaxel, and trastuzumab work in treating patients with HER2 positive breast cancer that has spread to other places in the body (metastatic). FASN inhibitor TVB-2640 may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Trastuzumab is a form of targeted therapy because it attaches itself to specific molecules (receptors) on the surface of cancer cells, known as HER2 receptors. When trastuzumab attaches to HER2 receptors, the signals that tell the cells to grow are blocked and the cancer cell may be marked for destruction by the body's immune system. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Estrogen can cause the growth of breast cancer cells. Drugs used in endocrine therapy either lower the amount of estrogen made by the body or blocks the use of estrogen by the tumor cells. This may help stop the growth of tumor cells that need estrogen to grow. Giving FASN inhibitor TVB-2640 and trastuzumab in combination with paclitaxel or endocrine therapy may help control the disease in patients with HER2 positive breast cancer. Read Less

This randomized phase III trial studies doxorubicin hydrochloride, cyclophosphamide, and paclitaxel to see how well they work with or without bevacizumab in treating patients with cancer that has spread to the lymph nodes (lymph node-positive) or cancer that has not spread to the lymph nodes but is at high risk for returning (high-risk, lymph node-negative breast cancer). Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as doxorubicin hydrochloride, cyclophosphamide, and paclitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Bevacizumab may also stop the growth of breast cancer by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Giving chemotherapy after surgery may kill any tumor cells that remain after surgery and help prevent the tumor from returning. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel, carboplatin, doxorubicin, and cyclophosphamide, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Bevacizumab may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Giving chemotherapy together with bevacizumab before surgery may make the tumor smaller and reduce the amount of normal tissue that needs to be removed. Read Less

The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy of pembrolizumab + lenvatinib to chemotherapy in female participants with Stage III, IV, or recurrent endometrial carcinoma. It is hypothesized that the combination of pembrolizumab + lenvatinib will be superior to chemotherapy for progression-free survival (PFS) per Response Evaluation Criteria In Solid Tumors version 1.1 (RECIST 1.1) by blinded independent central review (BICR). It is also hypothesized that the combination of pembrolizumab + lenvatinib will be superior to chemotherapy for overall survival (OS). As of Amendment 7 eligible participants on study completion will be able to transition to an extension study, if available, in which they can continue to receive pembrolizumab monotherapy, lenvatinib monotherapy, or a combination of both pembrolizumab and lenvatinib as received in the parent study. The goal of this clinical trial is to test if the addition of botensilimab to standard chemotherapy improves the efficacy compared to just chemotherapy alone in participants with metastatic pancreatic cancer.
