Paclitaxel Treatment Options in New Mexico

This randomized phase III trial studies paclitaxel and trastuzumab with or without lapatinib to see how well they work in treating patients with stage II or stage III breast cancer that can be removed by surgery. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Monoclonal antibodies, such as trastuzumab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Lapatinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving paclitaxel with trastuzumab and/or lapatinib before surgery may make the tumor smaller and reduce the amount of normal tissue that needs to be removed. Afuresertib is an AKT inhibitor, a new class of agents under development that may provide physicians with a new clinical option to control platinum resistant ovarian cancer (PROC) progression. Afuresertib plus chemotherapy has demonstrated anti-tumor efficacy and an acceptable safety profile in patients with PROC in a published Phase I/II study. Therefore, the combination of afuresertib plus weekly paclitaxel could represent a clinically meaningful step forward in the clinical management of these difficult-to-treat patients with PROC. This study is researching an investigational drug called fianlimab (also called REGN3767) with two other medications called cemiplimab and chemotherapy, individually called a "study drug" or collectively called "study drugs". 'Investigational' means that the study drug is not approved for use outside of this study by any Health Authority. Examples of chemotherapy drugs include the following: Paclitaxel plus carboplatin, and Pemetrexed plus cisplatin. The study is being conducted in patients who have advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The aim of the study is to see how effective the combination of fianlimab, cemiplimab, and chemotherapy is for treating advanced NSCLC, in comparison with cemiplimab and chemotherapy. The study is looking at several other research questions, including: * What side effects may happen from taking the study drugs * How much of each study drug is in your blood at different times * Whether the body makes antibodies against the study drugs (which could make the drug less effective or could lead to side effects) * How administering the study drugs might improve your quality of life Read Less

The goal of this clinical study is to find out how the study drug, sacituzumab govitecan (SG) works in participants with endometrial cancer who have received prior treatment with platinum-based chemotherapy and immunotherapy, versus the treatment of physician's choice (TPC). Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as carboplatin, paclitaxel, oxaliplatin, and capecitabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, may block tumor growth in different ways by targeting certain cells. This randomized phase III trial studies doxorubicin hydrochloride, cyclophosphamide, and paclitaxel to see how well they work with or without bevacizumab in treating patients with cancer that has spread to the lymph nodes (lymph node-positive) or cancer that has not spread to the lymph nodes but is at high risk for returning (high-risk, lymph node-negative breast cancer). Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as doxorubicin hydrochloride, cyclophosphamide, and paclitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Bevacizumab may also stop the growth of breast cancer by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Giving chemotherapy after surgery may kill any tumor cells that remain after surgery and help prevent the tumor from returning.
