Paclitaxel Treatment Options in Philadelphia, PA

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as doxorubicin, cyclophosphamide, and paclitaxel, use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug and giving them after surgery may kill any remaining tumor cells. It is not yet known which combination chemotherapy regimen is more effective in treating resected breast cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is comparing 2 different regimens of combination chemotherapy to see how well they work in treating patients who have undergone surgery for stage I, stage II, or stage III breast cancer. The main purpose of this study is to look at the potential effects of paricalcitol (a drug similar to vitamin D) and nivolumab on pancreatic tumors in patients who are treated with gemcitabine and abraxane. The study will also look at the safety of including paricalcitol and nivolumab as part of the gemcitabine and abraxane chemotherapeutic regimen. Read Less

This phase I/II trial studies the side effects and best dose of ganetespib when given together with paclitaxel and to see how well they work in treating patients with recurrent ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Ganetespib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel and carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading.
