Paclitaxel Treatment Options in Pennsylvania

This is a Phase III, global, double-blind, 2-arm randomized study designed to compare the efficacy and safety of atezolizumab + paclitaxel + carboplatin + bevacizumab versus placebo + paclitaxel + carboplatin + bevacizumab. Study participants will have Stage 3 or 4 ovarian cancer (OC), fallopian tube cancer (FTC), or primary peritoneal cancer (PPC) with macroscopic residual disease postoperatively (i.e., after primary tumor reductive surgery) or who will undergo neoadjuvant therapy followed by interval surgery. This phase Ib trial studies the side effects and best dose onalespib when given together with paclitaxel in treating patients with triple negative breast cancer that has spread to other places in the body and usually cannot be cured or controlled with treatment (advanced). Onalespib works by blocking proper processing of proteins that are important for cancer growth. This results in inability of these proteins to work properly. Paclitaxel kills breast cancer cells by interfering with their ability to divide. Giving onalespib together with paclitaxel may be better than giving either one alone in treating patients with breast cancer. Read Less

Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, carboplatin, and paclitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of \[cancer/tumor\] cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. External radiation therapy uses high-energy x rays to kill tumor cells. Internal radiation uses radioactive material placed directly into or near a tumor to kill tumor cells.
