This randomized phase II trial studies how well paclitaxel when given together with or without pazopanib hydrochloride works in treating patients with ovarian epithelial, fallopian tube, or peritoneal cavity cancer that is persistent or has come back. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Pazopanib hydrochloride may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking blood flow to the tumor or by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. This is a Phase III, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled multicenter study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of bevacizumab administered in combination with paclitaxel in patients with previously untreated, locally recurrent, or metastatic HER2-negative breast cancer. Patients will be randomized to one of two treatment arms: bevacizumab or placebo. All patients will be given an intravenous (IV) infusion of of paclitaxel (90 mg/m2) for 3 weeks during each 28-day cycle. bevacizumab or placebo (10 mg/kg) will be administered by IV infusion on Days 1 and 15 of each 28-day cycle. This is an open-label, multicenter, dose-escalation study designed to assess the safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics of oral GDC-0032 administered in combination with either docetaxel or with paclitaxel. Patients treated with the GDC-0032 and docetaxel have HER2-negative locally recurrent or metastatic breast cancer or non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Patients treated with the GDC-0032 and paclitaxel combination have human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative locally recurrent or metastatic breast cancer. There are two potential stages within each arm of this study: a dose-escalation stage (Stage 1) and a dose-expansion stage (Stage 2).
