Clinical Study of Fianlimab in Combination With Cemiplimab Versus Pembrolizumab in Adolescent and Adult Patients With Previously Untreated Unresectable Locally Advanced or Metastatic Melanoma
Recruiting
This study is researching an experimental drug called REGN3767, also known as fianlimab (R3767), when combined with another medication called REGN2810, also known as cemiplimab (each individually called a "study drug" or called "study drugs" when combined).
The study is focused on patients with a type of skin cancer known as melanoma. The aims of the study are to see how effective the combination of fianlimab and cemiplimab are in treating the melanoma skin cancer, in comparison with a medicati... Read More

A Randomised, Controlled Trial of a Low-energy Diet for Improving Functional Status in Heart Failure With PRESERVED Ejection Fraction Preserved Ejection Fraction
Recruiting
Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is a common and serious complication of obesity and type 2 diabetes (T2D). HFpEF occurs when the heart muscle unable to relax efficiently to pump the blood around the body. This leads to fluid build-up, breathlessness and inability to tolerate physical exertion. People who develop HFpEF do less well because treatment options are limited. Pilot data in patients with obesity and diabetes and a small number of patients with HFpEF have shown imp... Read More

Developing a Falls Management Tool for Adults With ID-POC
Recruiting
Falls can have a significant impact on the lives of adults with intellectual disabilities. The ACTION FALLS programme is a systematic falls management intervention that has been shown to be of benefit for older people however this programme in its current form needs to be adapted for use with adults with intellectual disabilities who have specific risk factors for falling and specific actions to reduce these risks. An adapted version of the programme to account for the different needs of adults... Read More

SCAD : a Registry of Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection
Recruiting
Spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) is an increasingly recognised cause of non-atherosclerotic acute coronary syndromes (ACS), predominantly afflicting young women without conventional atherosclerotic risk factors. Knowledge of SCAD has advanced considerably in the last few years as a result of data from a number of local and national registries 1-6. Like all rarer diseases however, a better understanding of SCAD will require international collaboration. At present, there is no Europea... Read More

Stratified Medicine of Eplerenone in Acute MI/injury (StratMed-MINOCA)
Recruiting
Patients with heart attack or heart injury are tested (angiogram) for blockages in their arteries. Many patients develop heart problems caused by damage to small (microvascular) blood vessels. These issues are also relevant to patients with coronarvirus-19 disease (COVID-19). Eplerenone reduces blood vessel injury and is used to treat heart failure.
Aim: to test the use of eplerenone in patients with heart attack/heart injury who have small vessel disease, including patients with COVID-19

COPD Case Finding in Nottingham and District: C-FIND COPD a Pilot Study
Recruiting
The Targeted Lung Health Check (TLHC) is currently being rolled out in many regions of the United Kingdom and has just started in Nottingham. The same cohort of people are also at high risk for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), a lung condition often caused by smoking and leading to breathlessness and cough. This study aims to provide pilot evidence of the role of breathing tests in those who have had a Computerised Tomography (CT) scan, in order to early diagnose COPD. Currently, at... Read More

Brief ES for Recovery of Autonomic Function in CES
Recruiting
BESCES is a study that aims to explore the feasibility of intraoperative brief epidural electrical stimulation (ES) for patients undergoing routine decompression for cauda equina syndrome. In consenting patients, brief ES will be applied using a CE-marked SCS trial kit once sufficient decompression is achieved. In participants who do not recover function following decompression, brief post-op ES will be applied to see if can facilitate micturition and/or removal of the catheter.
The study will... Read More

Axillary Management in Breast Cancer Patients with Needle Biopsy Proven Nodal Metastases After Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy
Recruiting
The aim of this study is to assess whether, omitting further axillary treatment (ALND and ART) for patients with early stage breast cancer and axillary nodal metastases on needle biopsy, who after NACT have no residual cancer in the lymph nodes on sentinel node biopsy, is non-inferior to axillary treatment in terms of disease free survival (DFS) and results in reduced risk of lymphoedema at 5 years.

Clinical Outcome Modelling of Rapid Dynamics in Acute Stroke
Recruiting
Stroke - still the second commonest cause of death and principal cause of adult neurological disability in the Western World - is characterised by rapid changes over time and marked variability in outcomes. A patient may improve or deteriorate over minutes, and the resultant disability may range from an obvious complete paralysis to subtle, task dependent incoordination of a single limb.
Unlike many other neurological disorders, stroke can be exquisitely sensitive to prompt and intelligently ta... Read More

Use of DTT to Define Facial Nerve Position in Vestibular Schwannomas
Recruiting
Vestibular schwannomas (VS) arise from the vestibulocochlear (hearing and balance) nerve, located at the base of the brain. Although benign, VS can enlarge over time, resulting in debilitating symptoms; therefore, surgical removal is frequently offered. One significant risk of surgery is inadvertent injury to the facial nerve, which lies adjacent to the vestibulocochlear nerve. Currently, the nerve's course is only revealed during surgical dissection and injury can cause permanent facial weaknes... Read More

Improving Patient Reported Outcome Measures in Catheter Ablation
Recruiting
This study will assess whether more frequent measurement of patient reported outcome measures (PROMs) - specifically health related quality of life (HRQL) - can improve the evaluation of the clinical effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of catheter ablation of ventricular tachycardia (VT) in patients with an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD).
It is designed to have feasibility outcomes which contribute to answering the above.
