The goal of this observational study is to longitudinally investigating subjects with inaugural acute optic neuritis (ON). The main questions it aims to answer are: * Does the time to corticosteroid treatment affect the visual outcome at 6 months in subjects with acute multiple sclerosis (MS)-, aquaporin 4-IgG positive (AQP4-IgG+) and myelin-oligodendrocyte-glycoprotein-IgG positive (MOG-IgG+) ON? * How differ clinical, structural, and laboratory biomarkers in subjects with acute ON, including clinical isolated syndrome (CIS), MS-ON, AQP4-IgG+ON, MOG-IgG+ON and seronegative non-MS-ON? Participants will undergo * clinical examination, including clinical history, neurovisual and neurological tests * serum and cerebrospinal fluid examination * optical coherence tomography (OCT) * magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) * assessment of depression, pain, quality of life through validated questionnaires Researchers will compare subjects with MS-ON, AQP4-IgG+ON, MOG-IgG+ON and other ON (CIS, seronegative non-MS-ON) to detect diagnostic and predictive markers for the disease course. Very little is known about the impact of combustion-free nicotine delivery systems (C-F NDS) on cardiovascular risk factors in T2DM patients who smoke. Data from clinical studies to identify any potential reduction in individuals' risk, relative to the risk of continued smoking, are needed. This study aims to test the hypothesis that avoiding exposure to cigarette smoke toxicants may translate to measurable improvement in cardiovascular risk factors and functional parameters when T2DM patients who smoke switch to using C-F NDS compared with T2DM patients who continue to smoke conventional tobacco products. The investigators propose a prospective 2-year multicenter randomized controlled trial (RCT) to evaluate changes in cardiovascular risk factors and functional parameters in diabetic smokers using C-F NDS and compared to those continuing cigarette smoking. This study evaluates the safety and effectiveness of pre-operative artesunate given orally once a day for 14 days prior to surgery in patients with Stage II/III colorectal cancer. Artesunate is an established antimalarial drug with an excellent safety profile, is well tolerated and affordable. A number of laboratory studies and one small pilot clinical study in patients with colorectal cancer have shown that artesunate can reduce the proliferation and growth of cancer cells. Two hundred patients diagnosed with Stage II/III operable colorectal cancer will be randomly allocated to receive oral artesunate 200mg daily or a matching placebo for 14 days prior to surgery. In BriTROC-2, up to 250 women with a confirmed diagnosis of high-grade serous/high-grade endometrioid or carcinosarcoma will be eligible for full consent (Part 2) and registration to BriTROC-2 and will be followed prospectively until first relapse. Women with presumed newly-diagnosed high-grade serous carcinoma of the ovary, fallopian tube or peritoneum can be approached for consent to Part 1 (screening consent) of BriTROC-2 prior to formal diagnosis. Patients with cervical cancer that has not spread to other parts of the body can be cured with radiotherapy. One of the reasons radiotherapy can fail is because there are areas within the tumour that have a poor oxygen supply which makes them resistant to radiotherapy. This study aims to assess if it is feasible using special types of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) - multi-parametric (MP) MRI to identify areas of low oxygen within the tumour so a higher dose of radiation can be given specifically to these areas to overcome the resistance and potentially improve cure rates without increasing side effects. The SELINA study will recruit 200 patients with cirrhosis and small HCC and 50 patients with HCC but without cirrhosis (most of whom are expected to have FLD). Blood, urine and liver tissue samples (where available) will be collected for laboratory analysis. In a subgroup of patients (N=80, around 64 patients with HCC with liver cirrhosis and around 16 patients with HCC without liver cirrhosis), additional magnetic resonance liver imaging will be performed. The findings of the SELINA study aim to identify biomarkers that can be used to detect liver cancer at the earliest possible time, something we expect will increase the survival rate of HCC. Paraprosthetic cardiac valve leaks are a progressive complication after after surgical or percutaneous heart valve replacement. These leaks can lead to heart failure and/or life-threatening hemolysis. Percutaneous closure of para-prosthetic leaks has been developed as an alternative to surgery in high-risk patients. These procedures remain technically challenging with a significant risk of failure and complications, but this risk is improved since the development of dedicated prostheses and the increased experience of the operators. The data in the literature concerning percutaneous leak closure remain limited and disparate and mostly retrospective.The impact of the procedures on the quality of life of patients is not known. Beyond the technical aspects and the follow-up of major cardiovascular events, investigators also wonder what is the impact of these procedures on the quality of life of patients. Investigators hypothesize that even a partial reduction in paraprosthetic leakage may be associated with an improvement in quality of life through reduction of transfusion needs and/or reduction of dyspnea. A prospective study is warranted to assess the technical and clinical and clinical results of these procedures, together with the evaluation of the the possible benefit on the quality of life of the patients.
