Immunization With BCG Vaccine to Prevent Tuberculosis Infection
Recruiting
The purpose of this research is to find out if a single dose of pre-travel vaccination with BCG can lessen tuberculosis (TB) infection by producing an immune response when given to adults traveling to countries with a high burden of TB. BCG will be compared with a placebo (an inactive vaccine). BCG (Japan) is used globally but is not approved for use in the United States, therefore it is considered experimental. Participants choosing to take part in this research study, will be randomly assigned... Read More

Ravulizumab in Thrombotic Microangiopathy After Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant
Recruiting
This study will evaluate the efficacy, safety, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics of ravulizumab in adult and adolescent participants with hematopoietic stem cell transplant-associated thrombotic microangiopathy (HSCT-TMA). In Stage 1, an open-label, single-arm period, the dosing regimen will be confirmed. In Stage 2, participants will be randomized to receive either blinded ravulizumab plus best supportive care or matching placebo plus best supportive care. The treatment period is 26 weeks... Study of Onvansertib in Combination With FOLFIRI and Bevacizumab or FOLFOX and Bevacizumab Versus FOLFIRI and Bevacizumab or FOLFOX and Bevacizumab for First-Line Treatment of Metastatic Colorectal Cancer in Adult Participants With a KRAS or NRAS Mutation
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to assess 2 different doses of onvansertib to select the lowest dose that is maximally effective, and to assess the safety, efficacy, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics of onvansertib in combination with FOLFIRI + bevacizumab or FOLFOX + bevacizumab in patients with KRAS or NRAS-mutated metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC) in the first-line setting.

Letrozole With or Without Paclitaxel and Carboplatin in Treating Patients With Stage II-IV Ovarian, Fallopian Tube, or Primary Peritoneal Cancer
Recruiting
This phase III trial studies how well letrozole with or without paclitaxel and carboplatin works in treating patients with stage II-IV low-grade serous carcinoma of the ovary, fallopian tube, or peritoneum. Letrozole is an enzyme inhibitor that lowers the amount of estrogen made by the body which in turn may stop the growth of tumor cells that need estrogen to grow. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel and carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by... Read More

[18F]Fluoroestradiol-PET/CT Companion Imaging Study to the FORESEE Trial
Recruiting
This protocol is a companion imaging study that will add FES-PET/CT imaging to the FORESEE trial at HCI. This study will establish the feasibility of using FES-PET/CT imaging to guide therapeutic decision making for functional precision oncology trials. The unique ability of FES-PET/CT to show absence of functional estrogen receptors throughout the entire body may improve confidence among research oncologists that an ER+ metastatic breast cancer patient is truly refractory to hormonal therapies... A Study to Compare Two Surgical Procedures in Individuals With BRCA1 Mutations to Assess Reduced Risk of Ovarian Cancer
Recruiting
This clinical trial studies how well two surgical procedures (bilateral salpingectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy) work in reducing the risk of ovarian cancer for individuals with BRCA1 mutations. Bilateral salpingectomy involves the surgical removal of fallopian tubes, and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy involves the surgical removal of both the fallopian tubes and ovaries. This study may help doctors determine if the two surgical procedures are nearly the same for ovarian cancer risk r... Read More

Evaluation of Dosing Procedures of Chemotherapy Treatment (Carboplatin) With the Contrast Agent Iohexol
Recruiting
This trial studies how well iohexol works in helping doctors calculate the dose of carboplatin given to patients with cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Understanding how to best calculate the dose of carboplatin given to patients with cancer may help doctors learn how to improve the use of carboplatin in the future.
